Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

MH nonsense on CNBC

Did you folks see MH on CNBC? Cloud will not result in IT layoffs - really? Oracle will do things that internal IT people did before such as set up and run infrastructure, upgrade applications, etc. , but oracle doing it will not cost them their jobs. What is this guy smoking? Oh, I get it his own marketing BS!

This is NOT a political statement so don't make it one. Was pleased to hear POTUS state during a Tucker Carlson interview that the 4.7% (or whatever it is being reported as) unemployment rate is great but the real number which includes those who have left the workforce is much higher. Finally, the first person in government, in my memory who has ever acknowledged this.

The cloud is ripping apart technology vendors from Microsoft, Dell EMC, HPE, IBM, Cisco and Oracle just like brick & mortar business. Cloud providers turn H1-B's from India, Brazil, Eqypt, Czech and elsewhere while clients are trying to push as much as possible into the cloud to remove headcount, benefits, salary & other employee expense.

We are experiencing Predatory Capitalism whereby some are getting richer by preying on others while lying to the world that they are protecting their preys. Sad.

That's an example of why this site exists. Corporations are doing their darndest to hide and lie about layoffs.

The big collapse hasn't hit yet, the "event" that can be blamed for all the layoffs. But the economy is collapsing nonetheless, so we will see corporations, media, govt pretend it isn't happening.

Case in point. Janet Yellen telling us the US is at "Full Employment."

Right, tell that to the 45 million on food stamps or the homeless tent communities all over America.
