1nks- That has already been in effect for some time now. The industry is slowly purging the higher pay brackets of labors that were in the company's and replacing with cheaper people.

This is the new process to get around the labor laws and utilize the slowdown to there full potential. This is not widely known but there have been changes between companies where this knowledge was transferred when upper management changed companies. The new norm will be a pay scale closer to the minimum wage.

It's all about supply and demand. We have more oil & gas than we know what to do with. Technological advancement will make the oil and gas industry jobs a thing of the past.

Good leadership, good employees, will not breed toxic culture, that's the problem.

Your right kpx, but it's too far gone , you need more people and leadership that want to right the ship, it's not going to happen, the damage was done years ago but wasn't noticed because the company was making money (somehow). Now with times being so tough there is too much dead weight and not enough experience, bad leadership, too much of the buddy system, this ship will go down, mark my words.

All the companies are in turmoil and unirganized. But employees can band together and change the toxic culture. Negativity is contagious, so it takes real leaders to turn it positive.

I can say deep down I like the security of having my job still here in Houston but deep down I want to find something else. This place is so stressful and unorganized it is not the place it used to be. The changes in leadership have gone from a family based organization to one where I feel like the stepchild that can never measure up. The new changes and struggles of the old smaller tools is driving me to drinking.
