Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Pebble? Are these people serious?

To be expected today on pebble, there are again statements about the mean media saying that SHC is not doing well & that only the Wall St Journal understands.

Didn't have time to read the WSJ article but if it's like the other ones the company pushes, it the best of the bad news.

My question is -- Why are so many employees liking and writing affirmative comments to encourage this nonsense?

I understand brown nosing. I don't do it but I've seen it in action since my 1st job. This though makes no sense. As the company has admitted itself, most of its controlling interests are different from YOUR interests. Stockholders & employee alike. There really is no benefit in s---ing up at this point. Makes you look dumb.

I loved the post from Eddie Lambert himself, relating the story about Sears to Trump fake news,

And all the people from Hoffman Estates who were thanking Lambert for his post.

It does remind you of what is going on in the national news,no one knows what to believe.

But anyone working st Sears HI,you have to be tired of the same old question from members--

Where am I going to bring my craftsman tools to be exchanged if Sears closes?

God forbid, you may have to go buy new tools instead of bringing in for free tools you probably got at a flea market or garbage sale.

@MrVHwwt-ftw I am correcting you as you are wrong.

https://blog.searsholdings.com/shc-updates/sears-holdings-remains-focused-on-long-term-profitability/

"To clarify, the comments from our Annual Report quoted by the media are in line with regulatory standards that require management to assess and disclose potential risks the company could face within one year from the reported financial statements. As 2016 proved to be another challenging year for most “bricks and mortar” retailers, our disclosures reflected these developments. While historical performance drives the disclosure, our financial plans and forecast do not reflect the continuation of that performance."

The media took only the first sentence of one paragraph in 140 page long document.

"Our historical operating results indicate substantial doubt exists related to the Company's ability to continue as a going concern. We believe that the actions discussed above are probable of occurring and mitigating the substantial doubt raised by our historical operating results and satisfying our estimated liquidity needs 12 months from the issuance of the financial statements. However, we cannot predict, with certainty, the outcome of our actions to generate liquidity, including the availability of additional debt financing, or whether such actions would generate the expected liquidity as currently planned. In addition, the PPPFA, contains certain limitations on our ability to sell assets, which could impact our ability to complete asset sale transactions or our ability to use proceeds from those transactions to fund our operations. Therefore, the planned actions take into account the applicable restrictions under the PPPFA."

OP, so you didn't have time to read the WSJ article, but you comment on people who've read it? Sorry, but it makes you look like a fool.

Wasn't all the recent media attention driven by Sears' own report?? Now senior leadership telling the workers that the media is reporting bad stuff and not to believe it. Someone pls correct me if I am wrong hear but I specifically watched the report on the news who reported that Sears itself doubts its ability to remain in business. Am I wrong here?

"ominous" - giving the impression that something bad or unpleasant is going to happen; threatening; inauspicious.

They suffer from a common malady today, which many have.

It's a malady in thinking that believes if they believe something with enough emotion, it will happen. This thinking ignores reality and logic.

I get being positive, which acknowledges a problem and works for a solution. Great.

But denying the problem or assuming it is fine when it is not, is delusion, not positive thinking.
