Once again surprised that there is so much thought that Sears is doing something shady. A&E to my knowledge is Sears service department which services Sears appliances, etc as well as working with other companies. A&E would probably be bought by another company if something were to happen with Sears. As such of course they would honor warranties or I would hope the big vendors selling their products in our stores would step in.

Think about it.....if something happens to Sears there are other brands who would want to step in and help or they would look bad and lose consumer confidence too.

Fools and predatory practices. Just like the mortgage lending predatory practices of 2008 SHC is working on the reputation of Sears from 30 years ago with the senior (aged) community. But also, buyer beware. Read the service agreement and check online reviews of how SHC honors those agreements.

Hopefully, SHC and the leaders will end up with jail time for what they have done.

I always hated seeing old people with still active. I had a guy come in for a PA replacement on an item he bought in the 1990s. Everyone was so proud, including him...but another co worker and I were horrified. It made me sick to my stomach.

LOL...store manager is totally lying to the guy or has his head where the sun don't shine if he hasn't heard anything about Sears shutting down.

From numerous stories from around the country warranty hasn't been worth much anyway between the poor quality of the appliances, parts availability, and atrocious service. Shouldn't make much of a difference. Grandma will still buy because the Kenmore she bought in 1965 was good and will be too confused to not be swindled on a service plan.

The manager at that location is definitely gonna get some heat from the higher ups for that F up. Even though it's not their fault.

The service department was spun off as A&E appliance repair some time ago so I would think They would still honor their contracts even if sears goes bankrupt, assuming they are separated enough from SHC to not be a part of this whole bankruptcy deal. however, nothing is for sure and I wouldn't count on being pushed to the front of the line when it comes to customer queues even in the best case scenario of A&E surviving. They already have your money so you'll obviously be put behind customers who haven't paid yet, especially since they'll probably be paying more anyway for a non warranty repair.
