Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Bonus / Layoffs

To those that were laid off.... Did management tell you if you would be getting your bonus?

The bonus talk has been extremely quiet with all of the layoff talk but those bonuses were earned by all for last years performance. If I thought it would help, I would give up my bonus...

But it wouldn't because the top execs aren't about to give up their bonuses. I think it makes sense in this company to get all that you can, when you can and then just move on given the opportunity.

Um…if you were in Power from the start of transition, you only got half in 2016 for 2015 bonus because of the ramping. That's 100% increase right there if nothing else changed. If you just look at the check itself it's going to be more because of the $2500 pre-payment in the transition.

They are good at making you feel good while actually pay you less than what you can get, aren't they?

I got word of mine the Monday after Axe Friday in Greenville. It was about 150% of the bonus from last year, which almost made up for the cut I got on my 2016 W2 from them delaying the last pay period of the year until this year. Still haven't gotten the actual check, though.

I was also laid off as part of the Power restructuring and my manager shared the amount of the bonus with me late last week. My understanding is that the amount will likely be less due to taxes but should be receiving it by the end of this week.

Yes, I will confirm that I got laid off in January 2016 and was pleasantly surprised and grateful that I got a bonus deposit in my account in 2016. I did not know I was going to get a bonus until it had came.

My manager said that bonuses will be paid but so far no mention of how much and when will this happen.

I hope they remain true to their promise!

Yes I was laid off and told that I would still receive a bonus in early April. I was also told the amount which is the same as I was expecting prior to being laid off.
