@MwcEmRe-1iyq How does revenue insure continued success. Let us just hypothesize that 10nm slips as Murthy alludes into 2018. Care to do the math what running three factories with their depreciation with minimal output cost Intel in profit and GM. The stock market when it realizes this will drop at a lot. Big kick to BKs nuts!

Second figure with Ryzen client and server as well as ARM servers starting to appear Intel will have to make price concession on 14nm. Let's not forget 14nm ain't where it needs to be either so a second kick to the nuts for Intel.

Second figure the additional accelerated costs of 7nm with knowledge that you have a shrinking volume to amortize the factory and volume over.

Third you can't refocus your TD resources on things like IoT, foundry, or Murth's grand vision of custom process and products on 32, 22n, 14nm as all your skilled resources are overstretched trying to fix 10nm, catch up 14nm and 7nm.

No if you really know what is going on it is frightening and more ACTs are all but certain!

Yes, customers are definitely sick of Intel; go and ask one or twenty for yourself. I have.

However, this does not spell the end of Intel, only prospective gains in their stock value (hint: it's peaked in the mid-high 30s). At $60b and high market share, they have resources to keep in the game for years, if not decades. They will definitely lose market share to AMD and other ARM-based architectures, but it's not going to happen overnight, and Intel will be forced to react in drastic terms once profitability is at all called into question. The large customers will continue to play Intel off of other viable sources (think Apple with the modems), but in the end, Intel is still a major force and they cannot be ignored.

Just have your stock exit strategy in place.

Intel won't and can't fail, they have a three year lead on everyone, that is what I learned today at the Manufacturing Day, 🤔😉

@1bzs, spot on! As long as companies bring in the $, who cares if the CEO favors gender toilets or not! And investors won't care if the CEO is a clown or not! As long as AMD don't get its act together (which it never has), we will continue to sell highly expensive workstation and server chips and continue to print $. Investors continue to be happy. Customers unhappy, so what, there's no alternative! Customers doesn't have a choice, never have! Try buying a AMD laptop or desktop or workstation or server. OEMs just push intel, it's lots of obstacles to buy an AMD system!

Customers are also sick of the gaming company EA and paying for DLC etc. Yet investors are well pleased.

Customers are sick of Comcast, yet investors are well please.

I think I see a trend! Who cares if customers are sick of your company as long as you bring in the $$$ the investors will be happy.

Last I checked, revenue was still ~60bil usd. The world will always need workstations and servers, much more in today's world. As long as AMD can't deliver, we will continue to screw customers and charge whatever we want. Historically, AMD have never been able to get its act together, time after time after time. What makes you guys think it's gonna be any different this time around? And don't mention ARM, it's fine for mobile. For server and workstations, it ain't getting anywhere despite all the brouhaha!
