Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Ruining 90 years of a great reputation

I have worked for the company for 28 years and the last 2 have been impossible. Constant unnecessary changes, total micro management and second guessing any and every decision you make on a claim. Anyone who can retire is getting out and quick. It used to be a great company to work for and have insurance with. They are making great strides to destroy 90 years of a great reputation.

I worked 36 years of the “good old days “ at State Farm and took the only golden parachute they offered. I consider myself lucky. I hate what is happening

Worked here for 13 years when they decided to close the doors. It was a great company to work for but insurance has become such a competitive industry with the Internet that they have to lower overhead to compete. Unfortunately they will lose great and loyal employees and become a revolving door for others not nearly invested in the company that I seen when I worked there. I kept them for my insurance because of what they stood for...great customer service and a top notch company. Needless to say I plan on shopping out my insurance and going with a company that deserves my business. Bye felicia!!

You have to wonder how that is going to affect the local agencies across the nation and their employees?

That is absolutely true. They have gone from an average of 20 years claims experience to 2 years. Their inability to attract and maintain quality employees seems to fall on upper management's deaf ears. Time to exit.
