Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Vendor issues

I heard Panasonic is no longer shipping to Sears. Working in appliances out vacuum shelves are empty. That makes sense

Got it! There are ratings in consumer reports on appliances though and at the end of the day you are buying the appliance for your use right? That is all I was saying. What is P&F Industries? Wouldnt they end their contract with Sears and have a new one now with Stanley Black & Decker as they bought the Craftsman brand? Maybe there really is nothing that shocking with them doing that?

@1utd - I don't believe that jqm was commenting on the quality of the Kenmore brand, but on the perception held by consumers. I cannot recall any recent real-estate listings or home improvement magazine articles boasting about a home being furnished with Kenmore appliances. It is extremely rare in my area to see Kenmore appliances featured in the new homes being built. I'm not 70 either and I like the Kenmore brand. Unfortunately, Sears has allowed the Kenmore brand to flounder into irrelevance!

I am not 70, and I like the Kenmore/Kenmore Elite brands. What isn't there to like? They are all made by brands like Whirlpool, LG, and Samsung. They have some of the best innovation from the collaboration between those brands and the Sears Kenmore engineers. I LOVE my new washer/dryer with steam treatment.

And what isn't there to like about Whirlpool that makes some of the Kenmore washers/dryers and other appliances for Sears. Whirlpool still makes their appliances in our proud USA. Who doesn't appreciate and value all the jobs that stay in the USA and create opportunities for all living here?

P&F industries ended their contract as of Sept 2017 due to sale of Craftsman brand and financial issues.

Kenmore sold.

That's funny! Who would buy it? Only 70 year old grandmas still think its a good brand. Actually not even many of them because of the way the service people have treated them as their last Kenmore died.

Check your source codes. The good canisters and the bagged uprights are made by Panasonic, ie 31150.

rsq, per Eddie's design, every department is in business for itself. Therefore, Sears brand or not, it would not be out of the question. Especially if Kenmore gets spun off or sold.

Panasonic still makes things?

I haven't seen a Panasonic branded item in the store I use to work at since we sold our last plasma screen TVs

Kenmore products are made by various companies depending on the item. IF a manufacturer quit sending items I would assume the first things to go would be the high end front load washers and the elite/pro French door refrigerators.

I wonder if there will ever come a point that Kenmore will refuse to ship to Sears? With the warring departments model, that may not be unrealistic. Some C-level A-'ole, might just decide that they can make more money selling to a competitor. It is a well known brand.
