Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel only needs 28,000 people I don't know what the other 90,000 add in value.

AMD has 10,000

Global 18,000

Don't forget all the folks pursuing MBAs and Executive MBAs across the company... Many of which are effectively part time workers collecting full time compensation....

I always say half of headcount can be chopped without any impact to revenue. Majority are just playing office politics, building their own turf and no contribution to Intel. But that's the culture that Intel encourages and folks who play politics and no contribution are promoted and move up the ladder. This is Intel today. Just take a look at how BK divides up his budget. Those close to him gets bulk of the budget even though they do not have much to deliver. DO's group is best example!

most of the others can be seen in hallways, cafes having meaningful one on ones with their manager.

Most meaningful post since ACT I. Intel bought a company for 16.7B then laid off 12K. How many heads will roll after buying a company for 15.5B.
