Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Vendors for In homes services

Part vendors are reverting the accounts to pay upon receipt versus net 60 day. The technicians must use a credit card to purchase parts for the repair of the appliances. Basically, the vendors don't think Sears can/will pay for the parts in a timely fashion. Or at all.

Okay so they are using a Sears corporate credit card to buy some parts needed for a repair or installation, and then Sears Holdings pays those bills? I dont understand why that is so bad? It has changed dramatically recently?

A/P has burned a lot of vendors purposely by not paying invoices, then claiming that invoices were not properly submitted. And the company reserves the right to not pay any invoice it deems not properly submitted.

After the 90 days, smaller vendors who are owed money are deleted from the vendor system as if they never existed.

So think about this when you no longer see certain regional items in stores or when you no longer see the same cleaning or snowplow in people ever again.

Are the technicians using a Sears corporate card? Seems kind of odd. There are payment terms out there for each vendor.

When I did the invoicing at my old store, I frequently got calls from payees inquiring after payments, only to find that A/P was sitting on its a-- until 90 days out (sometimes longer) whenever possible. This was a couple years ago. I can't imagine how bad it is now.
