Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Bitter former employees?

Is it only, bitter, former employees who visit this site, in a sort of morbid hope that their decision to leave / forced layoff from the firm has been in some way vindicated by the ongoing demise of NOV?

I couldn't give a toss about NOV, why are you on here then mr bitter? Get back to work you very happy man, still working at NOV? Then go and read you notice boards, cause this site has F##K all to do with you, since being paid off over 1 year ago, I've reached management level and if I ever come across a brown nose a-- kissing d--k like you. You'd be OUT! NOW get back to work or are you looking at this site in your own time? You sad man hahaha

Current employee, its not the company it's the market that's driving this crap, I'm pretty sure that NOV would be a lot happier to be in the same place as 5 years ago and not been forced to make these tough calls

No, current employees too. If you sift through the dross, there are occasionally the accurate posts that confirm rumors.

I was with Varco, tuboscope, then n.o.v. 23+ years total. got offered early retirement twice. took it the second time. I do check this site to see what's going on, and yes laugh at comments made here. I do miss the guys I worked with on the floor. but I also keep in touch with them by e mail to keep up with that div.

I have nothing but good words for NOV, as they treated me very well for 15 years.

I left for a new challenge, which most people will do in their working lives.

One thing people get bogged down on, is that leaving a company is be all end all....big wide world out there folks.

If you don't like NOV, then have a look around, if you are unfortunate to lose your job, plenty going, so I wouldn't worry too much

And also insiders who

(1), have info to share with others to help them prepare.

(1), feel bad about what has happened to friends and good people.

If it bothers you, spend more time in your supervisors office telling them

How good you are.
