I've noticed that over the past few days, there is a rah rah rah poster who reminds me of what I read on pebble. That disingenuous enthusiasm is fine for a corporate site. Not my cup of tea but people feel the need to s--- up to the higher ups. Maybe hoping for a good reference or better yet being taken on at some new company.
Here though it's just annoying.
To summarize:
Taking away the discount program was a crap thing to do. Store employees don't make much and it was nice to have a small discount. SHC still made money on the purchases.
The points are not as good because you have to buy something else in 60 days. Certainly not comparable to saving some hard earned money up front.
Retail has favored a part time model for years now but the current skeleton staffing model at Sears goes beyond that.
Unlike all other retailers, SHC is not trying to sell goods. That is suspect.
Hiring a HR "people person" does not make me feel better about a company that lost 2 big executives during the holiday season and just lost one more recently. The people person is there to fire people efficiently.
Many stores have a better web presence than Sears. Not even counting Amazon. So this web thing is a waste of time, poorly run & declining each year if you check sales volume.
Sure there may be an occasional company that spontaneously combusts and folds suddenly but usually it is foreseeable. SHC is in this latter category.
I guess the deal you make when you take the million dollar a year job is that you toot Eddie's horn for him even if I means trying to mislead people that have families to feed. I couldn't do it but I guess all that money makes you feel ok.
