Spark Board?

Anybody actually seen a customer use one or if WPR will be installing them in the buildings? Or are they just for show in the EBC or offices of SVP and higher?

You really are a sad miserable bunch. F--- off and work somewhere else. I hope you get LR'd - we don't need your type here.

Any Spark board demos I've seen RowT do have been cringe worthy. The thing just barely worked, needed to be rebooted and was simply nightmarish. The worst part is that it's nothing better in production. As another poster has said. He has taken it too far to turn back now. He would lose any credibility he has left to say he got it so wrong at this point.

RowT has put all the Collaboration eggs in the Spark basket. He has gone all in but only holding rubbish cards and it's time somebody removed him from the table before the damage is irreperable. I thought he had the perfect out when he was handed the IoT portfolio and figured he would stop sinking money into the Titanic sized Spark failure and focus on some new IoT brainchild. A move that might have shielded himself from the Spark backlash and allowed him distance himself from the failure somewhat. He clearly hasn't done that and continues to flog the dead horse. I can't believe he has been given so much time and money to sink into this Spark brain fart of his. Customers don't like spark and will not pay for it. When does that penny drop?

Compared to many 'Smart' boards I've used the SparkBoard is a good concept. However, the commercial model isn't that appealing at scale and it's at least five years too late to the market to displace what's already out there.

So if Spark goes RT goes also? Or maybe the parachute rip cord is pulled to the next venture before then.

Heard they will give Spark another 2 Qs. They are desperate to see if it will gain traction. RT probably knows that the clunky thing can be easily displaced by a $75 white board & a camera phone. He's just neck deep into it (or too embarrassed) to back out now.

It just seems the typical meeting attendee is already covered with the basic tools to call, meet, and collaborate. Guessing many others live a lifestyle where, even if remote worker or in office, have a webex running, then are also texting on their cell phones, typing an instant message in one or several clients, and also talking to people around them in the background. People seem to use these ad-hoc pieces to fit their current time and situation of the day. How many times have you dialed in and left a webex call, to then make a quick cell phone call, then to dial back in and start texting on cell phone. My point is it seems this overall behavior is already in existence and people will immerse themselves as much or as little as need be to fit their day. In the end, if someone really, really needs to contact someone else...they'll just call their cell phone. My prediction is most of the herd is already engaged in "collaboration" to the level they already feel comfortable with, between their cell phone and laptop...and any more saturation on "sharing" and "whiteboarding" is a tough marketing and behavioral shift above what is already here. I think people in general already feel over-connected; adding new Spark features won't wean the masses from what they are already using...texting/cell phone/general laptop ad-hoc apps.

I wonder how it is determined that there is a better way...I could buy my grandparents the most expensive smart phone there is...they surely are never going to use it much more than calling people...

Seems like the Spark board team will be the next to be LRd. Too bad the marketing and sponsoring execs will be handsomely compensated. It's too easy around here to blame engineering for building a product nobody wants. #Cius #Ume

Spark board? Mr RT's latest sacrifice to the Collaboration gods? Somebody here described is as a steaming turd. Personally I think that description is generous.

Heard there are connectivity issues and delay when using them. I'm sure it'll get fixed soon though, after all Cisco is a software company isn't it?

Spark is the next billion dollar business. Time to quadruple down on it with money and resources, as it flies off the shelves.

Have a friend at a comcast studio in LA that is testing all of Spark. Consensus from the entire team is that it's a steaming pile of crap! They got rid of all things spark within 2 weeks.
