Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Please don't beleive the lies or the post that are written to mislead you!

It was HCCP RN,s SNP Coaches and CHEs that were laid off this week and they may not be done!! They just don't want you to know that at any time you can be laid off if they feel it is better for the bottom line. No one, except for leadership, has job security at Humana. It doesn't matter how hard you work, whether you have been there several years or a few months. And to those that continue to thank a Director for transparency during team meetings... Please do not be naïve enough to think this will guarantee you a job next week! I said and thought the same thing. My advise, find a company where your hard work and loyalty are valued! A certain director does not care that they have dismantled the teamwork, trust, and member care that once existed at Humana Florida. Now everyone works in fear, with low moral and a huge distrust in leadership. And leadership can claim transparency over and over again, that will not change what people know.... what is transparent are the lies.

To the person that wrote about the CHEs... Do you really believe that leadership did not create the lack of work? Or that the CHEs (or anyone laid off) didn't have skills that could have been used elsewhere? Leadership saw an opportunity to change the MOC in a way tha eliminated salaries, not caring that it piled on work for those that remained. There was no consideration to the lives/households that they were affecting. I get making a profit but increasing your executive salary by three times and then eliminating associates to affect the bottom line is disgusting. Think of the well loved and respected leadership that recently "retired".... I am sure they were just as disgusted!

Many of us understand that companies need to be concerned with profit. Of course. What I don't understand, and what I have not experienced to this degree in my professional life with prior employers, is the blatant lying, creating a culture of toxic mistrust. Why stifle questions and discussion, why tell associates that mass graduations and discontinuation of enrollment are the result of efforts to allow associates to "catch up," (this is insulting to our intelligence and worse than saying nothing at all!), why have meetings to tell us that we are not being judged on a peer average when many of us are still being coached every week on how we are doing compared to the averages of others? Why have a PR article in the media about promoting a culture of employee health, while at the same time forcing us to use an entire day of PTO for a one hour medical appointment? Why not be open about the numbers "impacted," or provide some general idea criteria reviewed to make these decisions, so that associates are more informed going forward? Why not be more honest with associates, versus creating a false sense of security while discouraging open discussion?

Humana that has made $13.7 billion so far this year so I don't see why they can't reassign employees to other positions instead of laying them off. I don't know of one associate that has received another assignment. I know Humana says that they will help associates transition into other roles but that has not happened.

Please share with me the name of ANY company that would value their employees over the bottom line. In business the bottom line always comes first. CHEs were fighting for tasks since the beginning of the year. We all knew we would be laid off. Are we happy? No! But a company would be foolish to keep paying people for little work.

The frontline leaders and managers above do not know any more than you all. We are feeling the same sense of "who can we trust!?" This is so unbelievably sad and my heart goes out to those that were notified. Good luck

We were told no RNs or hcm ss were laid off

Not sure what to believe. NC members are all moved to another regional team, no longer in the Southeast. I thought the coverage team was managing members until HCM RNs had room on their roster. I do not know of any HCCP HCM RNs that were laid off but would like to know if that is a fact or fiction.

Yes in my Florida area there are not any more members that need to be assigned for HCCP management. We do not have full rosters now. I guess they will move us to other areas if we get to low. Do other parts of the country have extra members that need to be assigned to a HAH care manager ?

This is exactly what we were told before the first lay off! Do not trust your boss. They literally smile in your face and back stab you. Every single one of them

They told us they were not enrolling members to allow us a great opportunity to catch up on overdue calls. They said the mass graduation of members was a testament to how great we were doing. They hushed us up when we tried to ask questions. My coach said they wouldn't bother having trained us on 2.0 if they were going to just get rid of us. If we raised questions, we were chastised for being "negative" by coaches (and a couple of teammates, frankly. Those ra-ra Humana cheerleaders are now "impacted"). We had to drink the kool-aid, no questions asked. After all, we were so lucky to be there, no need for questions - your questions might get others wondering about job security and you don't want to do that - you are a team player! We are thriving together!

In my professional life, I have never before been fed so much BS. There was a time, albeit for another company prior to this one, when I was treated like a professional who can handle reality. I'll be glad to return to that environment and get away from this lying, greedy company.
