Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Medical Insurance and Severance Pay

I hope someone on this post can answer my questions. My unit closed down, and I took the severance package, I thought I had medical ins., until June 23rd. I was told that by Sears, will I check my paycheck, for the Friday, April 28th, and no insurance was taking out. Does anyone know anything about the medical insurance that deals with the severance package. Thank you for your help.

You may need to apply for insurance after you leave the Co. Look into the ACA insurance also. Will be very cheap if you are unemployed

Was this month a three paycheck month? If they have already taken medical for 2 paychecks in the month of may then the third has no medical deduction

Your severance checks should look just like your regular checks except they will be listed as Sev-InCorp. Your before tax deductions should be listed the same as your regular checks were.
