Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Does anyone know when My Work is going to be officially shut down?

Some people on My Work are apparently unaware that the program is going away. I've been told to get back in the office or I'll be let go, but not when. Could be tomorrow, could be a year. Has anyone heard any dates for when My Work people have to be back in the office or get fired? Or maybe they are doing it per LOB since there are people out there who hilariously think they are going to keep working from home.

Wow 4q you keep thinking that way you seem pretty confident management has your back whatever your situation

My bet is you are on the short list to get to the < 60% efficiency ratio

Although my mailstop is at a hub location, I got a written exception 2 years ago from a Band 2 leader to allow me to move 80 miles away based on a elder care situation. My friend works on the other side of the country, is within 25 miles of a hub location but cannot drive due to disability. How will hardship exceptions be treated with regard to my work?

The whole reasoning here is a sham - it's mainly incompetent managers trying to look good by picking on the weak guy or a controversial situation like MyWork to make themselves look good and above reproach! These sad individuals are like rats in a sewer looking for that left-over garbage to keep themselves alive.

It's not going away!!! They are looking at each person and their role and if that role still warrants the need to be in the office or not. If not, then they get to stay on My work. BAC always has flexible work arrangements it just depends on what you do.

Shame on management...inconsistencies...hypocrisy

... seriously??? How long have you been here??? This is the MO of SLT

Lack of space??? This is just another bell ringing loud and clear anytime management in this org tries to convince you they have done effective contingency planning. They haven't. That should scare the crap out of regulators

My organization has hundreds of people in the program spread throughout the entire country. Based on a recent merge with another group, we recently got even more My Work employees. My manager is a B3 who told us that within our organization there are no plans to retire the program. To remain in the program, the requirements are a strong Meets / Meets (or above) with production of solid, sustainable results, completion of all online courses within 1 week of assignment and continued accountability. Being accountable means being present and online during normal working hours. There is flexibility but in no way is anyone going to get away with taking advantage of the program. There is also a requirement that we attend All Hands calls in person twice monthly. For me, this means driving over 130 miles one way. There have even been new people hired into the program within the last six months, only a few though. In the case of my organization, letting all those My Work people go just because of their status would put a serious strain on things. I get the impression that some areas like GTO simply abolished it, while other areas used supposed abolishment as a way to get rid of people that they didn't have the guts to manage out. The poster who wrote about Wilmington, Delaware site is right. Space is a huge concern. There isn't enough any longer. Space is needed for the operating areas who cannot work from home so all the staff positions are getting pushed back to WFH. Unfortunately, there is no recognition that is actually My Work and these people will not be officially brought back into the program. The company has done a horrible job with the inconsistency. When I joined the program 12 years ago, job postings had a "Telecommute %" 20% for 1 day, 40% for 2 days, etc. Now it is like the program never existed and what is left is some secret society. Shame on management for letting the whole thing get so screwed up.

I know the wilm de location will be consolidated from 3 buildings to 1 and they have already begun letting some people go back to wfh full time.

It is news to people because of the inconsistencies across the organization that will always be there in every policy. When GT&O says it is ending, doesn't mean other areas who were on mywork have to agree. Isn't hard to find the hypocritical nature of the transition back to the office as -wgb noted. The higher in the org you are, the more exceptions you can spot being left alone as far as your mywork status is concerned. As usual it is always the people lower in the org that the upper mucks like getting off showing how much they can push you around and you continue to take it. Only way to put a stop to it is leave.

May be true. May not be true. PLENTY of higher band associates still on My Work. It will likely be greatly reduced but never totally phased out. They like pointing to it as a work life benefit even if rarely offered anymore.

You should return to the office immediately and demonstrate solid performance in the what and how. Do not ask any questions or challenge anyone. Do not make any mistakes, and keep a solid paper trail. You should also begin looking for another job with another firm since you or your group have likely been targeted for staffing reductions.
