Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Bitter Obese Leadership

Humana's obese, bitter leadership is a joke considering the company is supposed to be about health and wellness. I can't believe the obese COMS that are able to wage their bitter war against those below them that are smart, slim, and healthy. That's okay. We'll find employment someplace else. Go stick your face in another donut. If you can't manage your own waistline how in the world are you able to lead associates effectively? Go ahead, use your power to eliminate anyone you are jealous of who makes you feel less good about yourself.

And I repeat, take as business class or two. Revenues are NOT profits! That is what they took in BEFORE paying bills, salaries, benefits etc! Like getting a paycheck before taxes and before you pay your rent and buy food. You have zero idea what the costs are involved in running a company of this size. If there is any profit in our department and a loss in another department, any increased revenues would offset that. We don't keep all the money in HAH! It all goes toward Humana's bottom line. Also the projected new members for 2017 were way off and we are now expected to enroll far less. That was another reason for the current layoffs. When they realized enrollments were way off, they realized they had to reduce FTEs even further. I am getting weary of all the self appointed CEOs who think they know how to run the company.

Everyone also blames MF for everything. I hope everyone realizes he has a boss. ER who also takes his direction from a boss! Why doesn't anyone blame ER or the head of telephonic for what is happening to us?

ER does not make $19 mil a year. Perhaps he cashed in stock but he certainly does not make $19 mil a year. People really need to get facts straight. And I can guarantee 13 billion was not profit. Please take a business class or two.

I have posted this before that the company has made $13.7 billion in the first quarter of this year and they have plenty of money. RN salaries do not make an impact on the PHC salary . Now ER makes 19 million in the year..... that may have an impact .

CMS reimburses a higher rate for people who have licenses. Humana gets more from Medicare with RNs and social workers. That is why you have been laid off . I do agree that member that was sent to you was not an appropriate member movement down .

I am a PHC and my coach said that we have the nurses to thank for the trouble everyone was in. They make the big bucks whil we get the boot. they don't do anything with their members. Have you looked at their "healthy action plan"? Sent me a member that had a heart attach and nurse documented that she talked about eating fruits and veggies and sent the member to me. I don't know anything about heart attacks except they lead to more heart attacks. Sending it back smh.

Hahaha I have to agree with people here. Leadership doesn't care about your face or weight. They don't know you, and make no effort to do so!!! As for the person with the 'no asking difficult questions' coach obviously that is a reflection of her personal discomfort with the topic. If the answer is that she does not have all the answers then that's ok, but why treat people badly? Please replace her with me. I'm not beyond hard questions. There are some good coaches, unfortunately my good coach is leaving in this layoff. Now get back to work or they will whip us for not meeting metrics.

I would have to say attacking someone for their weight is not the way to go. Why do that when you have any number of legitimate complaints you can attack them with? Keep your focus on the way they do the job, otherwise you lose credibility.

I think that some of the wild rumors (well, maybe not Donutgate) on resulting from the way open communication is shut down on many teams, over chat, in meetings, etc.... Associates feel deceived and censored, and rightfully so.

Raise questions on chat and the whole team gets an email about chat being for role-related questions only, not for job security inquiries. Raise questions in meetings and suddenly "shoot, look at the time." You can't ask a simple question like "what do these mass graduations mean for us? What should we expect now that enrollment has discontinued in my division? How do we avoid being impacted?" When you do inquire, you get spin: "discontinuation of enrollment will allow associates to catch up on red alerts," "no, no 'planned' layoffs - they are investing in training you in 2.0, nothing to worry about, focus on helping members."

The lack of transparency and history of deceit, combined with the isolation of working at home, will result in misinformation, rumors and a general culture of skepticism and mistrust.

As long as leadership continues to mislead us, I'm not sure what the answer is. I guess I'll just grab a donut and hit the want ads.

I agree that this post was not helpful at all. We are looking for information regarding lay offs not the original poster's sour grapes and critique of our weights. Enjoy your donuts this morning, life is short!

This poster is a troll and just wants to get everyone going. Just ignore them and let's continue to post real and useful information. This is my only way to get information about what's happening around us.

Sadly, it's the poster who is bitter. For one, most of us have never even met the COMS or had a video conference with them. You cannot tell if I am skinny or obese by my profile picture. If we all worked in the same office our appearances might matter but in the virtual world it's sheer nonsense. As for all the other allegations, please show me proof. I have been here 4 years and have never seen anyone keep deceased members to inflate their rosters. It is also a HIPAA violation to contact a family member without a valid POA or release on file. If you know of HCMS or PHCS doing that then you are ethically required to report it. I can assure you it would not be ignored. Stop blaming everyone for the layoff. It is the nature of the insurance industry and happens frequently. Aetna lays off chunks of people every 6 months. There is no job security anywhere any more. My sister and a dozen co-workers just got laid off from the top hospital in her city. Even hospitals are laying off. It happens! We are all in the same boat. If we don't stop blaming everyone it is going to be harder to move on and find new jobs.

Sorry, yes I did go there. Of course this would not be MF, duh.

I hate to break it to you all, but you are extremely naive if you think appearances don't come into play when dealing with women.

Of course, you are right. It could be that I pointed out repeatedly that I didn't think it was right to falsely elevate numbers by pretending to case manage dead people, or people who adamantly declined program, or people that haven't been talked to in years, or talking to people without POA as if they had it. Did I miss anything?

Probably wasn't a good idea to point out that the report card that is about as informative and accurate as a rock either.

And yes, LOL, I probably do need counseling because Humana has scarred me for life. Disappointed in the company, but even more disappointed in myself for wasting so many years with them when it was obvious what I was dealing with from almost the beginning.

Sorry I offended you guys. I realize I wasn't being nice and who am I to question someone's motives?

Did you seriously just go there? What does anyone's weight have to do with being laid off? To blame the COMs on 5his latest layoff is so far from the facts. This by far is the most absurd post so far. I think the poster might benefit from some counseling.
