Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Previous employees impacted?

To those who were laid off in the 1st round did u have to sign a voluntary form in order to get the severance pay and have you been successful in applying for and receiving unemployment benefits after the severance pay?

I was impacted in the first round and just received my approval notice from the state of Ohio today for my unemployment. I haven't received my first payment yet. I did have to sign a paper to get my severance paper and whatever you do - don't send it end until your last day with the company. I haven't been lucky enough to find another position yet. I am glad to be out of the stress of the constantly changing numbers and the unknown. I wish you all well. I miss my coworkers and my coach but wouldn't go back to work for this money-grubbing, lying, heartless, unethical company for anything in the world.

Does your severance come all at once or like a regular pay check?

The only form I signed and was offered to sign was severance. We weren't allowed to submit it until after our release date but it came right away at least on my end. There was no voluntary release, we were released from our work by coaches and still paid. My advice... job search like crazy so you can keep that severance for yourself

I did have to sign a form to get my severance. I didn't end up filing for unemployment but was told that you still can if you want too. I was also lucky to find a new job. Keep your head up, I promise that it does get better
