Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

PHC program phased out?

I heard the PHC program is being phased out... Also more layoffs in June and August.... Coaches are telling their teams to update resumes and look for jobs. No new enrollment for SH or HCCP only SNP. Anyone else been told this?

When members are not being enrolled into a program and there are still people who are employed in that program it does make you wonder if a layoff is in the future . What happens when the workload decreases since there's no way to replenish the supply Of members. Humana is not know for moving people to other programs

They will never announce specific future layoffs in a big meeting. If your coach is telling you to update your resume, then I would listen. If you need a job immediately, then I would be actively looking. I know that management wants to cut down on the rumors but their behavior in the past is why so many people are nervous and post in this site right now.

We were told specifically by one of the leaders right after the layoff meeting that no role was being phased out and no more layoffs were planned for the rest of the year. Take that as you will. Could be a lie, could be the truth.

I'm afraid the company is not going to say what they are going to do but when you get hints from others like a coach then listen. Keep looking for another position so you don't feel so stuck

Does anyone think we will get some clarification on this at the next all associates meeting? I feel like, if they were to say something to the effect of, "we plan on phasing out non- licensed PHC's by August" (or whenever they decide), that it would be a huge weight off my shoulders. Yes, it would mean knowing definitively that I will need to find something else, but at least I would know and can plan. What would be the benefit for the company to keep us in the dark?

Right I believe the next thing is PHC's are going to have to be degreed in social work either BSW or MSW. We'll just wait and see

They may be enrolling members but the role may become a MSW role.

Yes if you heard the end of the meeting yesterday they talked about contracting people vs Humana associates and that contractors scored higher than associates. I think all people, RN and SS will be contractors soon.

I'm a PHC and I believe our role is being phased out or our re aligned role requirements trust me.

Our coach told us to update resume and keep an eye out for job opportunities, but did not say anything was being phased out. We were told the programs will remain. Adding that this is a "year of change" and updating resumes is always smart.

It would be nice if HAH leaders and coaches could at least get on the same page.

I have been told the opposite, that new members for SH are going to be getting enrolled starting in June.
