I agree with Big dog, our store is unhappy unkept, no coverage code 3 and 50 and help boxes constantly going off to point of insanity. This is going to blow up into lowes face and i for one think it's fynny.. They took a well oiled machine and let it run dry. At least it's down hill so it will still be moving till it hit the wall.

Lowe's claimed they had to change their bussiness model because it was on track to fail in the future. They called it Lowe's of the future or L.E.F. Since then there has been drastic cuts at the store level as well as the home office. I find it funny that this whole plan is actually the thing making the company fail. Karma is a b--ch. This company is on a 5-7 year clock of imploding. Hey Lowe's, you will never get back the people you lost. So imagine where these people with retail home improvement skills will get jobs? A lot of them might be with your many competitors. Lowe's reputation will suffer greatly because of these actions in the past 4-5 years. Amazing they never saw that FUTURE.

The rumor mill is primed and pumping. Bottom line... Jobs will be lost. Wages will be impacted. Roles will be eliminated. The Service Manager debacle is beyond words. How and why the Svc Mgrs selected were considered leadership material is a real mystery. In my store, it's little better than a clown show. As for the Sales Specialist roles... Big Ticket departments such as Mill Works, Appliances and Flooring seem the logical keepers. Live Nursery... No chance in hell. Hire for less and who needs an expert when you can empower the under educated service industry ilk that know how to wind a tale or two will suffice. Customercentric my butt. After reviewing survey history, the bulk of the complaint [Read... Less than 7 scores] is for lack of service/help/staff... A real depiction of the brilliant strategy recently deployed with more to follow.

Service managers act like they are looking for excuses to write us up and tick us off to the point of bailing.

I've heard July is for store LP and HR. For store LP rumor is for 1 to cover multiple stores. For HR rumor is 1 to cover 3-4 stores or all store level HRM gone with current Area HR to cover, hence the recent area HR postings to get markets leveled out. Would love to know the what and when from a reliable source. And if it's true, let's just get it done already.

On one of my closing nights when I saw the cranes come in and the painters that basically just painted over dust my first thought was comparing the analogy " just like a beautiful woman, high maintenance on looking good is no asset to the partnership if she is unproductive and doesn't add a benefit to the relationship" If you have a good one , appreciate them, treat them well and a genuine smile on any employees face is more attractive than a new coat of paint.

Niblock is greedy and so is the board of directors. Let's see we have these so called Ivy League people sitting around a table eating danishes and drinking latte receiving countless numbers of company stock and selling them at the drop of a dime. Just go top Lowe's stock and look at the sec filing.

Order takers in stores with PSI / PSE follow up. New positions to take up some slack will be PSI assistants.

It's happening. I was told yesterday by a former ASM that used to bleed Lowes blue. A 100% company man, now a specialist, with much less enthusiasm. Not sure when many have said July but may be end of current fiscal year. Cutback to one specialist in each department may happen in July.

So as a former Lowe's department manager don't get wrapped up in never never land. It's coming Lowe's only cares about wall street and the stock market. They feed you the Kool aid about customer service and the 7,s they could care less about you and the customer. Why do you think they are going to electronic contract's.

This will not happen soon! Have you been in the store? After they eliminated the department managers from the stores it's a sxxt show! The store has never looked so bad, no one is ordering product, no coverage in departments, down stocking not getting done. No one is being given any directions. My department has not had one work list since Jan. If they get rid of more positions, they might as well just shut the doors!

Don't think that is possible. Nothing is set up in our store for that to happen.. We don't have a CPO. We still have installed sales. This has the makings of an angry ASM who was let go in Jan.. While I do think more changes are coming. It's more likely next year but I feel they will chop half the specialists and then remove the last ASM's. Service Managers not doing well.
