I'm currently working as the only daytime receiving associate at my store. I was given zero training, and even though I've been here three years (in a different position) I feel completely overwhelmed by having to replace FOUR people. I never take a break, and my lunch is always way late. None of my managers have any idea on how to do this job. Receiving or claims.

Rec lead as of now will remain.. but some test clubs have removed RECIEVING COMPLETELY and have the stock crew unload and run freight. So in retro spec, the removed rec to save money but threw it on the night crew (now in 2 different shifts) to unload and run. But the overnight lead and or manager will have certain people with the smart rights to key trucks.

Hmm hyic that’s some pretty detailed info. Given what has been going in club and the end result you have given it makes sense.

@hyic im sure a high club is a 100 millon a year in sales, Dock lead Resumes all responsibilities is that of his and office clerks I have heard that as well. We need to remember until any of this has happened its just hear say. Im sure a majority of whats being said on here is true but again we just dont know. Reguardless of what happens my CM usually finds everyone a position and it may not be what they want but at least he tries.

How many that have been let go by Sams or Walmart still shop at these locations. I been with Sams for over 25 years and no longer will step a foot in a Walmart and when Sams eliminates my position that free membership card that we get for life for 20 year associates I will gladly hand it back to them and tell them no thanks I wont be needing this . I hope my job is one that is being eliminated I wish this every year and before one of you smart asses pops off about if I don't like it then leave and I will as soon as I get that severance pkg ill be gone. At one time we were appreciated for the things we did and now we are treated just like the associates that don't give a damn. At our club at least 5 people a day don't come to work and since they no longer have to even call the club it makes it that much easier for them to miss. When our great HO made this change happen they knew this would be a way to help decrease payroll because they knew this new generation of the workers are not reliable and I laugh every time I see any thing about legendary member service. What a joke

How does a club work with one daytime, one nighttime, and a TL? Is the TL overnight? Who covers the night shift days off?

structures are coming

I have a contact at home office that has given me the following information: The final phase of the layoffs will be rolled out in Jan but not go into effect until after Feb. Membership manager and lead will officially go away. A new grocery manager position will be posted. Jewelry lead, backroom lead, receiving leads will all be eliminated. Claims will be the only full-time position in the backroom left on day shift other than part time only. PTC will also be eliminated, drug test going away, background checks are done thru email, each mgr will be responsible for hiring and training their own associates and managing their time adjustments, schedules, exceptions etc.. APMs will take on new roles with a name change of experience protection still being debated. Merch ops positions eliminated in lower tier clubs.

some clubs already have a small receiving crew. 1 daytime dock associate, 1 overnight driver and a TL. No clerk.

I have been with this company since 1990 been to so many set ups for re models and new stores .,remember when going to work was fun and had a reason to work hard ., I still love what I do and my club . I will say this about all the cuts . It's part of wal-mart now . Don't put your trust in a company , another human being . You will always be let down . Put your trust in god and follow god and you will never want for anything . He took me living out of my car in. 92 to where I am today free of addiction married and living in a nice house . People all of our positions could be cut they might even be getting ready to sell the Sams side but pray to god to lead you in the right direction . If you be still and really listen long enough you' will see the signs . God bless you all . Just keep working hard . 1 side note ., we are a 100 million dollar club . We have only 1 full time dock associate . One PTC . No team lead for past year . Only 1 unloader at night .. Hard enough on them now just imagine when PTC gone .?

accounting dept restructured lead gone dec 1 in our club the people most affected have been there 25 plus years. Cutting hours so the work can't get done and then finding fault in the associates I used to wake up glad to go to work now counting days until I can retire. Its truly sad what this company has become. Mr. Sam is rolling in his grave!

Receiving lead restructure would be combining the responsibilities of the clerk and lead into one job. Think about it the lead has to be able to proform the clerks job already when they are not there. Of course more responsibility and no more money.... hey but that's sam's club.... and like my GM always say "at least you have a job" funny guy ..not

If nothing is going to happen, you think that the company would come out and just say so.Silence is the sign of approval.

I say take your severance package run as fast as you can. Walmart and Sams clubs have gone down hill. They no longer care about it's folks. The managers could care less about you and your families. You need to think of yourselves and not be caught under the sinking ship.......

No one on here knows a thing. A few in the HO do and I guarantee they aren't saying so everyone should quit asking about any layoffs or any specific job. All you're getting is bs responses. All we can do is wait it out or begin a search for a new job. Possibly someone can in and said let's rethink this. We shall see.
