Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

ORCL approaching all-time high

I know a lot of readers will see the blatant negativity on this board but some of us are more than content with Oracle as a company. We've got great benefits, a world class brand, and have great leadership in this company. As the stock approaches a record high, I'm more than happy with the leadership of Safra, Larry, and Mark. Please don't let this message get drowned out in the sea of negativity as that simply doesn't reflect the values or general consensus amongst Oracle employees.

You most be a VIP with a secure spot posting this, we at the bottom of the org are all loosing to the few locations that Oracle seem to want. Getting rid of all experience, daily we have examples of badly handled service with people from Romania or India. Oracle doesn't seem to care or the ones at the top do not see this happening and angry clients running away.

Romania for example is not even cheaper then other countries in Europe, so cost saving...... no idea. Time for Safra to move to Trump so we can get rid of Romania.

Oracle is like the turkey a few days before Thanksgiving - looking forward to the farmer coming to feed it yet again, not understanding that the hand that fed it is about to slit its throat and make a tasty meal of it. All those who don't understand this are in for very rude surprise, unfortunately

People posting here are (rightly or not) afraid that their necks are next on the chopping block. Either because they heard some rumors randomly and are looking to validate them, or because there were layoffs that already hit too close to be comfortable.

You cannot deny that there are layoffs, and that a lot of them are not personal, but political. Consider layoffs in support -- entire groups shut down, sometimes without replacements trained, and not because of money or poor quality, but because there was a decision to shut down a country without any consideration for specifics.

I know others are very happy with working at Oracle. It's just the anxiety that this happiness is about to end abruptly.
