Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Management and drama

Just wondering how many of us have leads, or store managers who keep drama going on in the stores and nothing gets done when you complain. Excuses are made and it gets swept under the rug. Have seen a lot of people leave because of this. This along with other obvious reasons cause the revolving door syndrome at Sears.

There are 2 and maybe a 3rd at my store that should be taken away in that police car.

The worst is that the 3 of them have gotten other employees fired to cover up what they have been doing. They choose someone vulnerable who will have difficulty speaking up and defending themselves and manufacture policy violations including throwing strong shade that these are the people stealing. Of course, the money and inventory continues to go missing after the fall guys are long gone.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that this makes me physically sick. And yes, I am looking for another job.

Before I left - my old store had this type of BS go on as well. For many years things went on that were shady and unethical. I won't go into detail as to what happened but I will say it involved a lot of money that was lost - especially in appliances and electronics. It wasn't until our new LP Manager came in that certain people started to get a bit antsy. You could of tell right away who it was. One day, about a half dozen people were fired and some got taken into a police car.

My former store manager who had transferred to one of the bigger San Francisco Bay Area stores abruptly resigned three weeks after my stores OPS manager was fired. It was a very bizarre time and something I haven't forgotten. I sometimes think back and ask; how could people let themselves fall into this unethical mess?

Then I realize that shady people don't know any other way.

Everyday walking in there you're fighting and uphill battle. Corporate doesn't listen to store level employees. Your suggestion means nothing. When they visit our store and get to talking it goes in one ear and out the other.

I wish that I was comfortable revealing which Sears location I work for because you have described the situation there exactly. There are many things that are allowed to go on that shouldn't and those employees don't get in any type of trouble. But certain people get targeted and a case is built until they get forced out or fired. These are the people who know the bad deeds of the other people.
