why is it idiotic to question about not seeing any news articles or corporate release on a 20K layoff?
yes, I do realize that people are being laid off, and I sympathize with them.
but it's not 1/6 of the company being laid off as advertised.

well, news of layoffs mean cost reduction and that helps boost stock price.
that's why you usually see it either "leaked" officially or unofficially.
And if the layoffs are really as BIG as rumored, it's bound to be news.

Most people laid off were sales.
Oracle never publishes this and TheRegister doesn't much care about sales this time around I guess ^.^
