Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Anyone getting mystery calls from higher up asking how you are doing in PAs or credit?

It used to be that managers were the ones to field phone calls about metrics. They want to know where you and your store is at in PAs, credit, Shop Your Way, KYM.

Now they are specifically wanting to speak with sales associates to grill them on metrics. If you are short in any of the metrics, they get cranky.

I don't know if this is a district level manager, regional or corporate.

I'm a repair tech, we no longer sale PAs; our metrics are about SHWs: they are admin'd by a different company.

We never answer the phone in my store either, as a general rule. Mostly because of the fact that, most of the time, it's someone who's pissed because they've been trying to call for hours with no answer. We get yelled at in person enough. Don't need it over the phone as well.

Answer the phone! Ha, Ha, Ha. What's that? Like we have time for that.

As a general rule, my store doesn't answer the phone. Ever.

Customers hate it but that's how it is.

Simple solution: IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE NUMBER --- DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE --- duh

Eddie Lampert called and asked if I had chosen to wear "mismatched socks" today. Incredibly, I had chosen to wear an orange-colored sock on my left foot and a perrywinkle-colored one on the right.

Unexpectedly, and as a reward for embracing the necessity to be "fashion trendy", I was promoted to chief a-- kisser in the store. The previous a-- kisser moved on to the I.T. Department at Hoffman Estates, although that butt officiado is scheduled for lay-off on June 30th.

More concerned with some metric than making customers happy and selling merchandise anyone wants to buy. Tell me what the priorities of the company are?
