Thread regarding Sears layoffs

AP Managers

The area AP managers are a joke. Ours is from KMart, and is completely clueless when it comes to Sears. Watching him try to prepare our store for inventory is sort of hilarious. We are also supposed to let him know whenever we see theft happening. I know for a fact he never follows up on any of it. Which is fine if that's how it's supposed to be now, I guess. But stop pretending you are going to do something when you have no intention of doing anything at all.

I find it so stupid how they focus internally instead of catching the people outside really stealing on the floor. I noticed that they focus on the accidents and I assume employee shop lifting. I don't think we have had a co worker steal or atleast heard of it. The whole SYW scams have also reduced. As soon as the shop lifter knows that AP can't do much they are going to go stealing in my store.

In my store I find it a waste I guess they have the guy in charge of AP and 2 other guys I rarily see them do anything. One if always flirting with the girls and the other one just got hired. I think its a waste of money investing still on our AP yet they rather cut other things in the store to save money.

I'm the OP. Although, I posted this as a comment elsewhere...I'm not sure who turned it into it's own thread. We aren't a low volume store, we're one of the few stores in our market that still turns a profit. We were considered a very low shrink store when all of these AP changes took place. We had an amazing loss prevention manager who admitted that the company wanted him to focus mostly on safety and on internal theft. But he was personally committed to chasing off shoplifters, and he was really good at it. Since he has left, the shoplifting community around here has become very aware of his absence. We have people brazenly walking out the front door without a worry. So I doubt we could still be considered a low shrink store.

If you lost dedicated AP then you're either a low shrink or low volume store. You're now one of the 7-10 stores that he covers. Catch random shoplifters at your store?? Ain't nobody got time fo dat!
