When Safra became a president, she canceled any activity that might cause Oracle to pay for ....for ....help me God.... for food & drinks for the employees!!! Or any event that might make the employees feel like they are getting a treat from their company. No sir, that ain't happening.
Christmas Parties (or winter holiday parties) were canceled, summer parties for all the employees and their families, canceled. Release celebration events, canceled. Team events/outings, canceled. Some food in the kitchen, pulled out of the kitchen. We should feel blessed that we still get coffee / tea / soda in the kitchen. Yes, employees used to enjoy these things and actually enjoy their jobs.
I guess Oracle has not seen large companies like Google, Facebook, and other great companies in the Bay Area and what they do for their employees. I have news for our filthy rich Sr management, food, snacks, and team celebrations are not a favor, they are a must to appreciate the employees. Treating employees like human is not part of the plan at Oracle.
The one thing that is constant at Oracle is: budget is very small that it cannot be wasted on the employees, but Sr. management MUST get their 10s of millions every damn year.
In bad times employees are told "Sorry, but we have no budgets since we have not been doing well". In good times, employees are told "Sorry, no budget this time, it is an order from Sr. management".
Just sickening how they treat their employees, sickening.
