Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

How to clear out development in the U.S.

So, one of these posts points out that management is interested in moving to India in a big way.

Other posts indicate that great performers are being harassed and attacked and the management is participating in this.

Other posts indicate that there is some spreadsheet process where the low performers will show up in certain columns.

Answer: This is how you wipe out a development team.... low performers can just be laid off, high performers must be sabotaged and attacked until they leave.

End product is, no-one left, Oracle needs to hire developers in India.

Brilliant! Intensely ruthless! Is that what this all is?

Clear out development in the US?

I would stop smoking/sniffing/taking whatever you are on, it's killing your brain cells and you obviously don't have enough left to form a clue.

Tech companies esp. in SF bay area/SV are having a hard time finding and filling reqs.

Why would they keep investing in that over priced area and keep looking for workers if it's easier to just move R&D to India or China or wherever? It's because they can't and they know it. The talent pool is here. The ideas are here.

Also, based on current trends, companies are shifting jobs back to the US because other perceived cheaper locales are not as cheap as they thought.

Look at what they did to the Support org. No one left who can even use the products they support. It is only a matter of time before the rest of the company is dumbed down like that.

Yes, this sums it up, but not just in Development. True for sales, support, etc., too.
