HCM-RN thinking about leaving and can't decide whether to give a 2 week notice or not. I know of some that back when they were still actively laying off that gave their notice and was told to just pack their computer that day. I have scheduled PTO and also unused PTO. Plus we have a holiday coming up. I tried to call HR annonymously but was unable to get an answer because at beginning of call you are prompted to enter if associate, and if are they want you AIN number and if go the nonassociate route they say they can't give that information out if not employed. My question is, if I do the right thing and give a 2 week notice, which will fall right before scheduled PTO and holiday, will I still get those, and also will I get reimbursed for the unused PTO I have left? Does anyone know for sure? I really don't wan't to burn any bridges as I have been employed here for a long time, but at the same time, I can't afford to have to pack up my things the day I turn in notice and go without pay for a period of time.

Over a year, you will get paid out
Under a year, if you don’t use it then you will lose it
PTO will be on last check of employment.
I gave no notice as I was looking at partial work week before had time off coming and my fll and tll minion riding me so much harder in this last month. I gave my best and then some, and just couldn't deal with the micromanagement and insane expectations of still same production with at least twice the case processing time from when I started many years ago. I was told I could be transferred when my replacement was in hand, and that was MONTHS ago. So then the games began. I didn't want things to end this way, but I had choose myself before yet another belittling "progress" where I all of a sudden needed improvement after being on target prior to transfer request. So my only question is when does the PTO check happen?
PTO only if you have been with the company more than 1 yr! Otherwise make sure you take all your pto because they will give you none!
I have my 2 weeks notice in too and I looked up the policy on policy source. You get paid out your PTO regardless of how long youve been a Humana employee, provided you left voluntarily.

I just put mine in and did give 2 wk notice. Not that I feel Humana deserves it but I like to leave on good terms anywhere I work. Believe me, was so tempting to just call and quit with no notice as I am tired of the unnecessary stress associated with this job. I felt 100% better after accepting the job! FREEDOM!
If you don't give two weeks it is noted in your file with HR then you will never be hired by Humana again.
Employment with Humana is at-will. That means you can be terminated at any time without notice. You also have the right to quit anytime without notice. I don't recall anything in Humana's policies that require a two week notice. It is a professional courtesy for at-will employees.
I would give 2 weeks notice but that's just me. I'd feel better about myself taking the high ground. But those who don't give notice I don't begrudge anyone that. Maybe they are just braver than me.
I did not give a notice, and I was paid for my unused PTO. I could not take it any longer. The job was hitting my mental health hard. I was in and out of MD appointments trying to get some relief. It's up to you! I had been there over a year, but was at the point I did not care about the reference. I did good work while employed. All they can say is I didn't give a notice. Enough was enough. They didn't care about me, so it was difficult for me to be concerned about Humana.
I put in my two weeks and served it all. I also got my full PTO pay out. i agree with poster that it's best to leave on good terms - not because they deserve it but because you do. Best of luck to you in whatever you do in the future!!!

Again, it depends on the coach. I had coworkers on one team where the coach let them leave early and use PTO towards the 2 weeks. Another coach made it like walking over hot coals to use PTO for the 2 weeks if you haven't been there a full year. The ones who had to work out their entire 2 weeks were miserable though since they immediately lost their rosters and cleaned up everyone else's rosters. Misery quickly ended once they logged off for the last time. Woot woot!
You should do your part of leaving on good terms. As in give your required notice. If they say you can go sooner then that's on them and you still get your payout. Good luck talking to anyone at HR. That's a two week wait right there for a response.
I would talk to you coach and count the PTO time as part of your notice. Don't give notice until you can afford to leave because they may say you can leave earlier.

The policy is you get paid out pto if you have been with the company for at least a year. As far as would they let you go immediately? That really depends on your coach
