Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

So...what is 5 $$billion annual R&D investment.??

as part of current corporate wide. CLOUD" training...management is claiming 5 biion$$ annual R&D expenses...what inovation this money is spent on??

If I were an auditing firm I'd take along hard look at that number. Seems like an inflated number to write off as a loss. Perhaps earnings are not good. Perhaps they need a write off to lower taxes, to keep the earnings number higher.

It seems they include all of PDIT in those numbers, so that means that pretty much all of our operations cost of running our cloud is included. The amount of money spent on actual development of new software and services is only going to be a very small fraction of that number. I'm in development, and even products and technologies that our cloud is built on are completely starved for resources. The brain drain is staggering. The only exceptions seem to be BMC and the few groups not under TK. Everything else has been cut to the bone and we can't even fix highly escalated customer bugs most of the time.

The actual investment in new cloud products is negligible, just look at the c$@p that is called oracle cloud

Very deceptive, it includes the cost of standing up new data centers, which is not R real R&D is much, much lower
