I'm thankful that they'll never cutback in the network side such as system performance or cell techs.
How many stores were sold to indirect...how many districts are left in East Texas area?
The cuts were not deep enough. I have several M.P.'s (formerly know as AD's) in my office that probably make 150k-200k and they have 2-4 people that report to them. It's hard to believe those MP's and directors survive the cuts but we're whacking inventory reps in the stores making a fraction of MP pay. It just goes to show you Verizon takes care of its own. By own I mean those leaders that are friends with their bosses, and their bosses bosses. Otherwise you're treated as disposable.
The bloodshed in the South Centalmarket and the rest of the markets is far from over. No position is safe! Even sales positions will purge the ranks of mediocre and underachievers, leaving the top performers to do more while getting paid less. Verizon is in full-blown, cost-cutting and head-count reduction mode. The only way to continue to make those quarterly dividend payments is to either increase revenue or cut costs. According to Verizon's last few quarterly earnings reports, revenue is shrinking which leaves them with only one option, which is to cut costs. Be prepared for quotas to continue to rise, commission checks and STI's will continue to decrease and pressure from the top will reach a fever pitch as leadership frantically runs around and tries to stop the bleeding. Good luck all, keep those resumes on the ready and start looking if you haven't done so already.
I could not agree more. I never ever had anythting bad to say about the company. But unfortunately things have drastically changed on ALL LEVELS. I have spoken to Directors who say they are only staying for the money. I know teams that literally have no major work to do and are trying to come up with nonsense projects to stay afloat. The stress is felt from the top to the bottom. The company is spending all this money on relocations and renovations and for what? Is it really making a positive impact on productivity or bottom line? No. It is just ridiculous. The current leadership needs to be overthrown. I wonder how Denny & Ivan feel about whats going on - its a sinking ship....

Good luck to everyone! I am thankful everyday that I am finally away from that place. Keep your resume updated and have a plan. Verizon stopped caring about their employees a long time ago. You are just a number to them and they will be happy to remind you of that at any moment. Those of you on the fence get your life back and stop letting Verizon control you. Take your experience with you and find something you enjoy. Rid yourself of the TOXIC VZW culture!
In our district, our GM left his current district and went to the neighboring district to be GM in February of 2017. Our Floating manager filled in...thinking he would become the next GM. After a week of pass throughs from other LITS/floating managers from other districts coming through our stores for meet and greets nothing was said about the position being filled.
Cut to April and the layoffs. Then in May we merged with the neighboring district to our east and became GL10. We then fell under the GM in that district. Our floating manager wasn't let go immediately. Now his last day will be at the end of this month.
Yesterday we had a store closing in our district. Last day of business will be sometime in July. Horrible that this is happening. Especially when out regional manager said NO MORE Cuts and fed us BULL. Oh well. It's happening. Refreshing my resume. Keep your eyes and ears open y'all. Don't let upper management feed you Bs.
This will continue. Everyone laughs at me when I say retail will get gutted in 2017. Wait and see.
