All kinds of news on Friday about Apple using inferior modems from Intel on their upcoming flagship iPhone 8. How long before Apple gives up on Intel? This is starting to really hurt their reputation as best in class and Samsung S8 is ready to go with 1Gb speeds now.

To be honest , most of the friends are not happy with iphone 7 . Most of the phones are with intel modem.
i decided not to purchase a phone with Intel modem. i am going for samsung.

I always think Apple products are overpriced - that's why I own none of them.
Intel modems has been 1-2 generations behind Qualcomm since long - this is common knowledge. Apple has been using intel to get better deals, as simple as that.
Apple is genius in making money - they offer one generation older hardware, makes their software good enough, and fans happily pay twice the market price. There is a reason apple makes 90-95% of all worldwide Smartphone profits.
Apple has lost its mojo just like Intel. All comes from who is in the corner office. Both have manufacturing monkeys running a technology company. Sorry but manufacturing monkeys are no technology visionaries!
2020 , right about the same time as ARM overtakes the server segment share......all IC's walked, those left - mgrs, vp's , and directors. stock becomes a penny stock

Intel's modems, developed by the ex-Infineon team, are always at least 1-2 generations behind Qualcomm. Don't forget when Infineon was acquired in 2010/11 they had no 4G modem available.
