Thread regarding Sears layoffs

At our store no one gives a rip no more.

My store has gotten bad, no one cares. We do what we want, when we want. We even started shutting down early some days and go in the back room and smoke cigs and have some beers.

One guy even hooked up with a cute gal from pliances.

What are they going to do, fire all of us? Close our store? hell I've even had some drinks at the register. I drink a bit out of the coke cam and pour some rum in there and have me a rumadum.

One gal so tipsy she could run the register no more so we put her in the back

Screw you Eddie.

"No one gives a rip no more"- what is that a phrase from the 1920's? What is a rip?

But a funny post.

I think the first reply might have been a dig towards a certain region of the country.

I must have misunderstood Sears policy. I had always thought smoking weed, drinking booze, groping the staff, and general malingering while claiming overtime was a Sears requirement. Damn ! I'm such a loser. I should be dismissed, unceremoniously -- of course.

Yikes, I just checked my email and it seems that I've been promoted !

Come on guys. The OP cant be serious or he is in high school. No respectable grown up man would act like this. Can you imagine if your family visited you at work and you were acting like a clown? Dont feed into this nonsense or believe it.

There are some pretty good trolls out there that have nothing better to do.

I am not a fan of Sears by any means but that kind of blatant behavior is unexcusable. I hope you are joking.

It makes those of us here that do have a work ethic look bad. If you don't care to this extent of drinking, smoking and ignoring customers then you know it's time to leave, not to sound "preachy" or anything. You'd be doing yourself a favor, you can (hopefully) find something that you would care about and be actively engaged in if you change your outlook and work ethic.

Again, I'm not being a killjoy or anything. I know that Sears has become a terrible, dead-end place to work. However, your store will eventually close and/or the company will fold so you will need a good work ethic to take with you to another employer. Sears may not have the resources to curb this behavior and your particular location may have apathetic management but I can tell you that this wouldn't fly elsewhere, so it's best to fix your work ethic and get ready to work somewhere else.

we do not drink beer at the registers at my store but we do have what we call super tuesdays where we play texas holdem poker in the back room, last week we had 7 people show up 5 employees off the clock and 2 non associates. we have no club mgr so on Tuesdays we only have one hourly lead mgr in the building, that lead is one of the 7 playing cards with us lol

You sound like a very classy and intelligent fellow. Would you be from one of the carolinas? Or perhaps you are one of our Appalachian cousins. Surely from the south/southeast region of our country. Keep up the good work.
