Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Its not over and no one is safe... except OD and Bengaluru india.

Rumblings are a foot. Major changes still underway. Support, Sales and Development. No one is safe. Employee morale is at an all time low. There is no department to transfer to for safety. Cuts planned in healthcare benefits. Facilities will close, offices will be shut down as there are no longer enough employees at certain locations to keep them open. Hiring freezes in place. Everywhere except Bengaluru India. Here Oracle has over 5,400 jobs open for support, Sales and Development.

Oracle isn't publicly announcing layoffs because it is trying to project imagined strength, now of course by not telling the truth it only shows how fragile and insecure it's management really feels. That's what happened when you don't have the courage to tell the truth, upfront. LE is a weakling

Temporary reprieve, still lots of experienced and expensive people on the payroll in North America and Western Europe, thus MH's and SC'snwork not done yet. Expect a pick up in layoff activity after earnings call

Oracle isn't announcing layoffs because it would fit the narrative of a failing old-style software company while we want to project the image of a modern fast growing successful Cloud company.

Old and absolete.

Yeah, who needs engineers who can use a spellcheck...

Old and absolete. Oracle needs new talents and they can be found abundantly cheap in other parts of the world. Get used to it and adjust accordingly. The rest of the world is catching up, the truth hurts! As far as layoff with Field Support...it's about time...you have been milking Oracle all these years.

For some reason oracle is desperately looking to avoid publicity. The vast majority of large public companies, including then likes if IBM, Cisco, MSFT, pre-announce layoffs; oracle doesn't even announce layoffs after the fact. Me thinks it has something to do with LE's ego, he just can't stand the thought that he is failing and laying people off, so he's trying to cover it up. Stupid and childish but that's the reality at oracle.

why avoid publicity? layoffs = reducing costs = more profits = stock price surge.

when everyone else is laying off, you think anyone cares if you are also?

The layoffs so far too small to be it, they clearly decided to split it up in a few rounds to reduce the likelihood of national publicity, which they are desperately trying to avoid. As you are impacted inform your local media please, as local media pick it up national media will pay attention as well. God luck everybody in finding new jobs! Yes, you're done at oracle
