Retiree Concerns

Retirees are concerned as well: It is not just it's employees that will suffer it is the retirees as well.

We already had a letter sent out to us that makes us wonder if our pensions will disappear.

Big money seems to be the trend.

I wonder how Warren Buffet handles his shares of GE now!

It appears GE Leaders do not value the contributions retirees made to the company. It was more important in their eyes to achieve a Legacy purchase of Alstom with your pension money. And build a Saudi Gas turbine plant with your pension money. And start a hopeless digital company with your pension money. Their actions and decisions should be criminal with intentional negligence. I know of one group of retirees that are discussing a class action lawsuit against GE as a proactive measure.

To your point, here in print showing now a $31 Billion shortfall.

"GE’s pension shortfall is the biggest among S&P 500 companies and 50 percent greater than any other corporation in the U.S. It’s a deficit that has swelled in recent years as Immelt spent more than $45 billion on share buybacks to win over Wall Street and pacify activists like Nelson Peltz."

Don't merge with BH and divert the money into pensions. The drilling business is on its knees and in terminal decline. Read the news and use your head.

GE Pension was underfunded by $25.6 Billion (with a B) in December 2016. What do you think they will do?
