SGA positions eliminated

Does anyone know the process or timeline for the company's plan to eliminate Store Graphic Artist positions? I know they've started the process in some regions (although they aren't really publicising their intentions). Will this take place fairly quickly now that they have SLAW in most stores? How many stores have already eliminated chalks? Any info is appreciated.

The Store Artist position was eliminated in the South last October. No more chalks or floor/window art. TMs print their own promo signage. Many stores here are also 'Triple Team' or 'Market' stores, with one TL for GROC, WBOD, SPEC, and one MEAT/SEAFOOD TL.

I hope this isn't true. The artists at my store are BABES!

They'll be gone soon, across the board. Southwest Regional peeps said to start looking for a new job.

That's a clickbait topic op, but it's a good question. I haven't heard anything specifically in our region, but it seems the writing is on the wall. Stores with 2 SGAs are already down to one in our region. SLAW is fully capable of printing sale signs but in our region yellow sale signs are still printed in filemaker for no apparent reason. This is just speculation but it is most likely it is to keep us around to ensure a smooth transition to teams printing all signs.

I think they want to get rid of the uniqueness a SGA provides. On one hand, I understand because anyone can make whatever sign they want which is a liability for a large company. On the other hand, it's what sets us apart from the decor in a typical chain store. It's just a sad reality that comes from working for a large corporation. Who knows, I could be wrong. I was sure the SSS job would be cut when we got SLAW for tags, but they are still here a year later. Probably because of the weights and measures lawsuit in NY.
