Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Allstate Layoff more to come

They are also planning to eliminate at least 80% of the Processors and Specialist positions to India. Not only your claim will be handled through the App on your phone but processing the claims will be individuals who have never seen a car. Employees and customers are already upset with Allstate. The Quick Photo Claims will eventually shut Allstate out of the insurance business. You cannot determine damages by a photo. Many customers have already filed complaints with the Department of Insurance. Trust me no job is safe at Allstate especially if you have been with the company over 20 years. Our meetings have been like a monopoly game. Who stays and who goes.

Allstate is a corporation. “It” can not care, nor has it ever been able to care. It’s a corporation.

Those who have been around a while know that Allstate has not really cared about their employees since Jerry Choate left.

Performance doesnt matter the officers of company all have stock options that increase when they announce layoffs in press. Its clear how bad morale is i mean they had to have a 1 day training course to ORDER us to be happy and made "leadership" the measure they can use if you dare to question anything. I read all the posts here and are amazed mgt should take a look since most are too scared to speak up and those who say they are told to S--- it UP are exactly right no input from workers at all. No transparency from upper mgt they claim its a value but its not demonstrated by those who wrote the values to the front line the people who drive value so all the middle managers can have jobs and constantly change things to justify themselves.

I was laid off seven years ago after 11 years. Prior to that I had 15 years at S Farm and was laid off. Not super bitter but I do see lots of good people have their lives upended and left wondering what to do. Well s--- it up butter cup. This honestly is the atmosphere and environment of Allstate today. When required reading is the book Left Behind. You might be at the wrong company.... Remember He doesn't give us more than we can handle. Best wishes to all.

When they announced the shift in focus to web-based claims service and automation, I reverse engineered this outcome and ran it by my manager. The thought was dismissed, but after 7+ years with the company I know what to expect from these snakes. Move on if you're an employee, I sure intend to do so before they cull the property adjuster flock.

Info from a coworker that is relocating to North Carolina is that QFC is looking at ways to take over total loss as well. They want to see if it's feasible to send out vendors tow yards and take photos and adjusters can run the valuation based off of those photos. This coworker had been told this information a few weeks ago before the layoffs. My guess is right now QFC is focused on running at 100% nationwide and then they will expand capabilities.

To the new employee, STAY. Get your experience and look around and when you got all you can leave. The company is no longer are career which it was when I started in the 80's but a stepping stone job to better things, Use them and use back.

Anyone have any rumors as to what will become of the Total Loss Depts. I am thinking they will roll that function into QFC.

I guess when we've entered the age of qfc it's acceptable to let people go over a one way telephone call at one time. I'm surprised they just didn't send a text message. I know people that spent 20 years plus of their lives devoted and loving what they did all ended by cowards who are more worried about pushing the stock over 90 dollars a share, and making insurers pay premium price to do all the work once they really need assistance. Hey and I was one that didn't get the bad news but it's left such a sour taste in my mouth I don't want to work for people like this or be insured by them. Best of luck to everyone.

I'm very sorry but not surprised. I was part of the ABO layoff last year. We did have face to face meetings but with outsourced hr people. And we were walked out the door the same day. The people at the top are evil and heartless. I'm still unemployed and fighting for my life.

I found the outplacement company useless. If you already have a good resume and LinkedIn profile you don't need them. Wasted my time. Pleas write reviews on Glassdoor. And indeed. And tell e eryone you know there is cheaper and better insurance out there So glad I didn't switch to the bad hands.

Many well-qualified employees who have shed blood, sweat, and tears and have performance ratings of better than expected have been laid off. No prior notices were given in some departments. For some, it came as a shock as the news was delivered during a conference call. I understand a company needs to reduce their workforce, but the manner in which this was done was disgraceful and disrespectful to the employees.

All the rumors are true. What a S*** show. Employees who have bled for this company during good and bad are being fired. There absolutely will be a second round of firings later in the year. It is absolutely disgraceful how they have treated employees during mass firing. No dignity, no concern or care in the world for the very people who have built the company into what it is. Tom Wilson and his gang of warlords have proven time and time again how easy it is to lie to people to get what you want. Line the pockets of the rich and let the little guys suffer. NONE of the ideals this company preaches are even remotely followed by upper management. Claims compass is a joke. CI is a joke. HR dept is a joke. I hope all reading commit to reporting the crimes this company is committing to the Insurance Commissioners of your states. I have the opportunity to take a different position and I am declining. I want to work for a company with a shred of ethical behavior...... Allstate is out!

I was lucky enough to retire from this joke last year. When I left I told the mcm at that time that I hated what allstate had become , the employee had gone from being valued to being treated worse than a dog. Micro managed to death, worked to beyond 50 to 60 hrs a week with no compensation, etc. Again they have proven how anti employee they are.

"Allstate brand auto net written premium grew nearly 4 percent in the 2016 fourth quarter, reflecting a 7 percent jump in average premium, more than offsetting a 2.9 percent decline in policies in fourth. The division booked a 95.3 combined ratio in Q4, 3.3 points better than in Q4 2015."

Thanks for all the hard work , here is your severance package ,

. What a great company ! 7 percent increase in premiums , your lucky if you get a raise there if your salary hasn't been frozen .

The Home Office employees are leaving in droves. Everyone is running around trying to figure out who is going to be in the next round of layoffs. The are 2 age groups left: the older employee; trying to hang on for the age 55 and 20 years of service so they can retire; and those that are new. There are very few people in the middle range as they have been treated like crap and have left. The current CEO is a very smart man, but doesn't have a clue as to how to keep the employees happy nor does he care. All Tom Wilson cares about is his golden parachute and keeping wall street happy. At the rate the company is going, it will be gone in another 5 years. It's time to get rid of the little guy with the Justin Bieber hair cut.

If management or home office is talking , they are lying , they don't how to speak the truth if the had to . Be honest man up , and just admit you need to increase your bottom line , dividends and upper management bonuses . How the insurance commissions allow QFC is a disgrace , insureds are paying good money for cut rate service hoping they just take the money and run . They are required to make an insured or claimant whole , not just give a half *ss estimate , figuring it money they saved .

Indeed. I wonder how many of the employees really believe their lies. No one dare asks at the town hall meetings why they are laying off people if the company is doing so awesome.

What happened to those core values ? They speak of them , but they don't have any and haven't for many years . I left Allstate over 10 years ago when they showed their true colors not paying overtime . and extending drive in hour . It's a big charade , they try to portray to the public how caring they are and tell the employees how great and caring they are . I guess they think if they tell the lie enough times the employees will believe it . Don't drink the juice , field adjuster are seen as expendable !

It's scary times right now. Quik foto dept. will soon start handling their own supplements sometime this summer. We're hoping a second wave of layoffs doesn't happen at end of the year. They figure they only need a few field adjusters now.
