Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Human Resources Layoffs at Macy's in June and July 2017

What about cuts to HR over next few months?

Any idea when that is coming and how deep this round of layoffs will be?

Do they have any specific groups that they are targeting.

Thank you!

I agree completely, @1uhs. Posting it as a separate thread, hope you don't mind.

AST associates were just notified of layoffs at end of July with severance.. Apparently they will be consolidating duties and managers will be required to do even more.

it'd be nice if we can use the money we are saving from closing stores to staff our stores better. If we are going to have a ONE DAY sale spread out over three days maybe we should staff Thursday just as good as the Saturday. And we wonder why consumers would rather go to other stores or online. Maybe instead of spending money adding ridiculously nice amenities in some stores let's put money into staffing properly so our customers have a great, friction free experience so they keep coming back. Customers don't come back if the store is renovated, they mainly come back for the EXPERIENCE!

much of store line hr is not in the "know". we have seen the webinars. we know all about hr reinvent and the direction the company is going. many are concerned because business is not there and aren't we one of the only department store companies that still have HR managers in stores? everybody knows HR is top heavy starting with corporate and trickling down. it will only be a matter of time that there are cuts in hr. they kept many of the HR managers around for the cuts in january. now it is HR's turn. the writing is on the wall.

this company will look very different in less than 10 years!!!
