ACT was all about replacing more expensive older people with younger ones, overall. You really think BK and Richard Taylor had no idea when firing 15k people that the hiring machine in HR was going strong with several thousand external postings and college recruiting activity never taking a pause throughout the year? That's why we ended 2016 with almost the same headcount as we began. This is illegal age discrimination, pure and simple. Sure the selected algorithm took out some younger people, but statistically, it was cherry picked to yield an average hit on the 40+ are group. Unethical, illegal, and immoral leadership. They KNEW exactly what they were doing.

Redeployment is opening prelude to ACT2.0. BK is $hitting right now after seeing the latest updates and implication from TMG. Even a dumb factory manager that he was can now clearly see the situation with 10 and 7

@NOClyd7-1zan Additional desperate ACTs will be required as x86 based on bigger 14nm cores come with little price or margin gain.

Servers flat and missing growth and margin targets.

Billions dollar bets with little revenue and margins.

Then the Waterloo 10nm ramp will be the straw that releases another ACT

If the number of employees did not change substantially in spite of act, then this tells me that the current amount of employees is probably the right number needed to run our business. Cutting spending and/or heads is really a short term fix. The real problem is that our business has become less lucrative overtime, and this is much harder to fix.
