Any updates on what they plan to do with salaried sales managers? There was some talk in December/January that their ultimate goal is to eliminate salaried sales managers completely and make them hourly supervisors and a pay cut would be required to maintain employment.

Don't believe all the hype...I know that they are hiring new EDP's....college grads at $50k...so the company is willing to spend at that level...its just that the EDP's jump as soon as they realize they actually have to WORK and WORK HARD
All of the managers in my district that were let go were highly experienced, had many years of service and were middle aged or older. I thought age descrimination was against the law.....
They can flex their muscles all they want,just today they called me on my day off because of call offs so I said no way should you ever interrupt me on my time off because of incompetence in your hiring process. Pay more get better quality of people to work for you.
SMs have been instructed to flex muscle and power over SAs. SMs are required to start searching for things targeted SAs have done in an effort to find a way to begin thinning the herds. It's going to be a march to minimum wage, poorly dressed and unmannered SAs on the floor. The professionals will be jettisoned. According to CEO, our newer customer does not want the level of service once given by the pros. It's no longer required, so why bother. Tailored suits are morphing into suit separates--that department will be decimated within 12 months. Big ticket will be staffed by order takers or mostly moved to .com (Kohl's sells a ton of furniture online). Mattresses, too (Target has a deal with Casper).
And once the SMs have done corporate dirty work, they'll go, too. It's simply a matter of time. CEO and share holders want salary expenses at store level cut dramatically. It's coming, folks. So many things being talked about and the ideas come fast and furious.
I am warning you. Watch your backs as SAs.
