UCS Roadmap

I am dilemma, whether to stay or leave. Does this BU have roadmap?

Cisco is in top of blade market nothing to gain there, Dell is choking everyone in Rack. Does Cisco have a strategy or new plans?

Does anybody know about new project called Andromeda, this is Cisco's cloud version of UCSM and they are projecting roadmap till 2020, I am still not convinced they can catch up in cloud market with so late entry.. your views ?

I know someone hit with the May Lay off one of many in UCS. Lucky. Get out. The revenue decline does not lie. No leadership in sales and no leadership in execution just same good ole boys club. Watch for more bloodletting in August. Sad really with such great promise.

Very very sad. This was a true area of innovation, excitement, and growth. How could they F that one up so badly?

Services & Support perspective: We've been in a perpetual state of catch-up since multiple product launches out of the UCS BG were rushed to market. Abysmal rates of return mean no innovation. Abandon ship.

UCS BU is too concerned with protecting what they have to take people to invest in something new. Ever since Cisco acquired Nuova, nothing has really changed. Sure they developed 3160/3260, but nobody is buying that beast. You can get the same box from supermicro for 25% of the price. Even HP smartened up and complimented their HP-designed/built boxes with ODM boxes from Taiwan/China.

Cisco continues to be in denial in the land of selling buggy whips.

If you're not concerned, you're in denial. The blade market is saturated, and declining. Cisco's appetite for hyper converged on rackmounts is throttled by it's need to announce 60+ pts margin every 3 months. Oh, and Cisco's inability to execute given that BU's complete and utter lack of balls. You need to be checking out the Dells and HPEs of the world. Interestingly, if you want to bridge your hardware skills with cloud, even consider a Supermicro. If you want to specialize in SDS, consider Vmware. As much as they can s---, they seem able to develop and execute on strategy. You only need to look at how NSX is eating ACI's kibble.

Unfortunately there is no roadmap and I think you already experienced the May layoff, also if you're following the BU revenue you should saw the YOY of declining revenue, there focus is on HW not SW! Which means they're missing the industry requests for differentiation. The management don't have a vision on how to run such portfolio, I'm surprised about how "what they call themselves leaders" still holding their positions!! To change the situation BU need a fresh blood from outside, "hire real talents not a storytellers!"
