Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Sabre - Nokia / Kodak / Blackberry in the making

Expecting to see more RIFs in the next couple months since we are behind on the 2017 targets and the executive bonuses and stock oprions are at risk

As we lose more developers and other employees there will not be enough new products / innovation to keep up with our competitors. Just take a look at what Amadeus has done in the past 5 years or so. Not even trying to compare with Expedia and Priceline who were nothing when Travelocity was #1. We will continue to bleed customers and revenue slowly leading to a vicious cycle where it is going to be death by a thousand cuts.

We are definitely the next Kodak / Nokia / BlackBerry. Just a question of time now. Good Luck everyone and don't forget to fasten your seat belts.

Very good post. Such big companies and their bosses go down totally rather rarely. The same will be with with Sabre and all this CEO, VPs etc. They have GDS to sleep peacefully and the only one part paying for bad business decisions will be workforce in the bottom: developers, testers, supervisors, project managers etc. So update your CV and start looking for other job. Don't cry. Don't worry about Sabre. Worry only about yourselves and your future. And make a big step over the Sabre as you usualy do when meeting the dog's sh*t laying on the pavement.

Don't worry about Sabre. Nothing gonna happen to Sabre.

They have GDS and even in the worst case It will survive much like Kodak or Xerox with its document imaging or some other crappy division.

Worry about yourself. If your in AS and you think TN is stable at least try move there, if not to a different company.

Update your profile and start applying. Take anything which comes your way and looks more stable than Sabre. You may have to take pay cut or you may land into your dream job and better pay.

If executives bonuses are at risk then you know there will be cuts coming. They will do everything in their power to save their $$$, but not to actually progress the company.

Haven't heard any more rumors about selling off the HQ buildings and moving everyone over to the Westlake office in the space vacated by Corelogic. That rumor was running rampant for a while. Maybe its time they look into this option again and sell off the cement fortresses to a company with a future.

Thank God I got RIF last year before the onslaught of Sabre employees in the job market. Set with a new job for 6 months now making 50% more than I did at Sabre anyways. I feel for everyone still there. I know another person that got laid off with the first round, yet to find a job though and now 10 months out of the job market....not good for him at this point. Unemployment ran out and last I heard went to be a res supervisor for Virgin at less than half the pay he was at Sabre. This company s---s. They've ruined people's lives.

Market Capitalization

Sabre - $6.3 B

Priceline - $90.4 B (15 X Sabre. WOW)

Expedia - $22.2 B (3.5 X Sabre)

Amadeus - $23.8 B (3.8 X Sabre)

We are being told internally that we are rge biggest GDS in North America. But reality is that our competitors have left us in the dust and Sabre has lost its way as is clearly visible from the market caps of competitors above
