Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Are Lowe's specialist positions going away?

I heard this twice today. Any truth in this. I left in 2016. Good luck to all.

My guess is some stores are stocked for a reason... And others aren't. I'm willing to bet which one is closing next and is simply winding down.

Honestly, I'm fairly sure this is happening. I'm at my desk now as I write this, and already the store is buzzing with fear and suspicion. Even if it isn't the case, it's frankly disheartening to see how easily we have become paranoid since the first restructure.

I'm at a store in southern Florida, and I've seen multiple posts on this site alone from people elsewhere who have heard the same rumor. Seems like Lowes is f-cking people over again.

Heard all specialists will be demoted to CSA5 starting in July than terminated in January. Not even giving us a full year to find another job. Hard to find a job during the summer months and in the fall places just want to hire seasonal help. Working hard all these years for nothing. Niblock is digging Lowes grave.

The growing rumor is a reduction in specialists. From say 2 to 1. Hire 2 part timers to do department work and specialist will be only for installs..

More than likely I hope not.
