When I forget when I got LR'd, all I have to do is search for the date of that ridiculous party they had at Levi's Stadium, with Christina Aguilera and Keith Urban. I got that shirt two days after I was LR'd. I hung it over my cube when I headed out of there, but took it back - just seemed too mean. I still went to the party, even after the LR notification.
Doesn't sound mean to me. I got my anniversary notice 3 days after my LR as well as the email telling me how grateful Cisco was for all my contributions and thanking me for my service with a gift. I printed the email, the years of service cert, and stuck them both in my empty cube for the next person to throw way. I figured they might want the head's up that all years of service do is get you shown the curb.
I used to keep the nicer t-shirts that commemorated special events like building openings, etc in unworn condition. Now they don't fit, and do me no good. I ended up giving them away to other long time Cisco employees.
