Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

5 Day notice cut to 2 Days

It appears that the "Soft Touch" has been abandoned for a more time efficient notification schedule. Yeah, notified on Thursday, Gone on Friday. I am hopeful the water cooler gossip is wrong, but unfortunately many good, loyal people may experience something different this Thursday. If you've heard anything, please post. Regardless of the outcome, DXC doesn't deserve the talent and loyalty they inherited, and so cavalierly throw away.

The only metric that matters is how Customers feel about how their services are delivered. Keystrokes and Mouse clicks from Continents away may be cost effective, but results in a customer feeling neglected and abandoned when they need us most.

DXC will soon be a memory, paper in the recyle bin, then local dump. The employees which made the companies from which it was born are stronger than many give credit. Our strength is not in numbers, but what we can deliver to the customer. A hand shake, but more importantly a commitment. I will be there for you! Can DXC, HPE, HP now say the same. Hollywood Commercials say one thing, Boards of Directors may be swayed, but the IT Directors who know where their budges come from understand the best.

I'll take a Clydesdale over a Stallion any day, in the end a work horse gets the job done!

Farewell to all my Brothers and Sisters who have sacrificed, missed Birthdays, Baseball/Basketball Games, Anniversary's, and Holidays, You are the true unsung heroes. No awards, corporate slaps on the butt (well in the case of some of the ladies I hope not), but know that for us in the trenches you have our never wavering respect and admiration.

Farewell my friends. We should have a DXC reunion 1 Year from now to mark the start of new lives, and to celebrate the real victors, US!

For the duration of my redeployment period I billed all effort to Admin - nobody cares as long as the weekly time sheet totals the expected effort. No replacement? Your lucky or maybe the replacement is yet to be notified.

It's true. I got an invite Thursday morning for a one-on-one with my manager for a few hours later. Told immediately to stop work. Have access to DXC system through midnight tonight. Heck, I didn't even get time to train my replacement. Oh, wait, there won't be one...

Best of luck to you. Don't let them cheat you out of 1 week though. They didn't appear to have given you 1 week working notice based on what you described in which case you should be getting 6 weeks and not 5. Make them pay what you are entitled based on following and let us know details if you can:

US current policy is:

Up to 3 years 2 weeks

3 - 5 years 4 weeks

5 - 9 years 5 weeks

9 - 15 years 6 weeks

15 years or more, 8 weeks maximum

If you fall under a different program for some reason this may not apply to you but this is general US WFR policy.

12 years of service - woke up today to a meeting invite with a subject line of "Call with " Last day tomorrow, 5 weeks' severance. Informal rumors are that it's 20% of the particular group in which I worked.

We should come together and reinvent a new EDS and say FU to all of HP, HPE, and DXC and we will be better for it. ~ Grasshopper

HPE/DXC consultants got hit on Monday, with a June 30th end date. No warning, or defense from management to those on the receiving end. Some with over 16 Years, their package is pitiful. less than 1 week per Year. All while Meg Whitman enjoys a 5 Star trip to Germany, receiving awards for HP Achievements. Funny how the mainstream media pays no attention whatsoever to this information. They are getting their money's worth for Google search results.

Buckle up Brothers and Sisters, it;s going to be a rough ride these next Two weeks.

Sure sounds like a nasty Thursday upcoming. Hoping for the sale of all my former colleagues that it's not true, but I have no doubt that it is.

DXC wants to be Tata/Wipro and won't stop until they are cheaper than those guys. They will lose every existing client before then, but I truly think that is the plan. They don't want these specialized contracts, they want to sell generic, lowest-common-denominator services from the cheapest labor locations on earth.

Word of warning to current and especially long-term customers of DXC. It is just beginning, start preparing to compete the work. In my opinion, staying with DXC will not end well. They are selling you out.

If you get an invite for a Thursday meeting with no topic, clear your files and work full time on getting a new job for the next few days. Do the minimum effort just in case the meeting is legitimate but prepare for the exit. Let D1cks decide who to transition your work to- put yourself first.

@NSJKLTL-uig too funny if you think that the institutions who hold DXC shares give one jot.

Shares go up and before the crash they bail. In the meantime they are getting huge buckets of stripped assets in cash.

Beware? Hardly, they are jumping in for the feeding frenzy.

When will people learn that Wall Street investors don't put money into a company to make it happy or to keep the staff or make it last forever. They put money in to make money. Short of illegal acts, they don't care how.

Your WFR/RIF bloodbath is music to their ears.

This week is the week for me. I was given unofficial heads up last week, so I know it's coming.

Whitman/Lowrie strategy of cutting thousands of jobs, regardless of client contract requirements, shows their intention to drive the company into the ground. Share holders beware, you are being played. They will sell the broken, unredeemable husk of what was once strong and solid companies and make several hundred million each in golden parachutes. Welcome to the heartless, soulless world of big business.

All I can say is I got a heads up last week, and water cooler gossip today at the office, and then a impromptu meeting invite for Thursday with no explanation, or response to questions posed to those above. If others experience this same sequence of events, please post so we can all be properly prepared.
