The OP sounds like a Kmart interviewee who is confident he got the job. The ESL part got the best of him, but the comedy is nice.

The Walmart culture is too folksy and homespun, it doesn't translate well to a high end shopping experience. Can't see Walmart ever being able to pull off high end stores. There is just something about Walmart and the culture that rubs people the wrong way, especially millennials, and people anywhere outside the South. Too, the comment about high end food is so true, I don't see the day when you can get a nice prime rib or filet mignon at Walmart. High end shoppers expect to have a butcher on hand for those purchases.

If we do, how will that be any different than the Neighborhood markets Walmart already has?

Walmart should have differentiated the offerings at the NHMs to include stuff more like Sprouts. The issue is that they aren't set up to do high end food.

So they buy Sprouts and bring them into this efficiency network. Over time the assortment would change and they'd wind up looking like NHMs. Strip the labor out of them, dumb down the assortment, and you've got a really bad buy.

Unless Walmart can learn about specialty food and service (and commit to it), I hope this isn't true. It'd just be throwing money away.
