I don't get it. It's not like a TV watcher is gonna say, wow BMW is partnering with Intel for autonomous cars....I am going to get a BMW because it contains an Intel chip.

The intel dong and Intel inside made a lot of sense when you had to decide on what laptop to buy every other year as it meant a faster and better experience. These days people don't give a phuck of what is inside. They don't even need to upgrade their laptop or computer, use it till it dies and replace it for 399 or less.
You look at every commercial Intel is in and it doesn't do anything to initiate a real product sell.
BK thinks he is running an Apple or Samsung like company? No he runs a semiconductor manufacturing company. He should focus on fixing broken TMG and fix them so they can compete with TSMC, Samsung on silicon and Qualcomm or Apple with amazing SoC. The mister core of the company is broken and uncompetitive for the current business environment. Olympics and TV commercials ain't going to change that one bit.
Sad that they only place they make money had no competition for 10years and they still couldn't grow it. Now AMD is back with a vengeance.

I think the strategy kinda makes sense. Intel hires dumb marketing people to create dumb commercials which appeal to dumb consumers. If many people are dumb enough to blow $800 on an iphone, why wouldn't they do the same on crappy Intel products?
It's counter productive and it hurts the Intel brand.

It's just a stupid ad and a stupid waste of money. Old intel commericial I get, because you buy a computer with an Intel processor, because that is the main thing in a computer.
These new ads do nothing except say, "hey, we're are working on it too"....
I think Intel is the only semiconductor company that wastes so money in tv marketing, with no direct impact to help chip sales. No other semiconductor company does this....money that could be used for more r&d to actually build better products.
Some give marketing the sticky note that chip sales for AI autonomous driving is accomplished by doing a deal with an OEM car company, not some consumer watching TV.
This just illustrates how naive and inexperienced Intel is in its foray into things other than x86 for the PC.
