Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

ORCL posts STRONG earnings

Let's hope this is the end of all the negativity on here from disgruntled ex-employees. Just to be clear, there are no RIFs in progress. There is only strong growth for Oracle Cloud and getting a blue chip on board like ATT means Oracle Cloud will continue to strengthen.

Please stop posing fake news on here. Oracle's future looks stellar with Larry, Safra, and Mark driving the ship.

SC totally knows that oracle cloud is a pile of Ssssssh..... aving cream, can't dump her stock fast enough and cut cost fast enougjy to get some more bonus before the thing totally falls apart, and she sails off in the sunset leaving LE holding the bag (he can't sell his shares). So much for returning LE's loyalty to her - never trust these I-banker/ lawyers, they will always screw you!

SC is brilliant, shifted career right out of Oracle left MH holding a steaming pile of s...

She dumped her shares.

She KNOWS.

But the clueless newbies at Oracle will have the sunshine pumped up their behinds.

Believe the marketing spin.

We didn't lose to the Kwiws the boat was broken, it was a user error, we used the boat.

Nice to see the Oracle Marketing department posting here. I'm writing bots to do that BTW - so hopefully you'll be next. Why pay your salary when we can automate it? Be seeing you....on LinkedIn searching for work.

Excellent piece of sarcasm.

RIF in Progress in Oracle..and it will continue until 2020. This is their next 3 year plan...Out with the "old" and in with the "new" - but they don't think abt the value and knowledge gathered by all those seniors and actually "drove" the company to the point it is today. There was a "vision" only in Marks' head...if you ask an Oracle employee what is that vision what are the values of the company... only a few will be able answer that...down the pipeline all these are lost. MH and SC are living the classical American Dream in their "fantasy" well payed world and have no idea abt the reality... and how their employees feel...as if there is no RIF they will leave O by own will as they know there is no future in there... Wake up please! RIF is in place for the past 3 years and will continue for at lest the next 3...

Hype and cost cuts is what's carrying oracle, no substance behind it, inexperienced newbies cannot carry the company forward, which is why SC is selling her stock, she knows this is not sustainable

What is sad is how well Oracle is doing yet they continue to lay off veterans for cheaper employees wherever they can

How can you degenerate the ORCL revenue increase? No matter how you slice it, ORCL is executing its Cloud strategy excellently. Revenue is up and Profit is up. ORCL is executing like a well-oiled machine and is a great company to work for.

I wouldn't be surprised to get to a point where when people think of "the cloud" they think of the Oracle Cloud!

These so called cloud revenues and earnings are junk - AWS, SFDC, MSFT have real cloud revenues, oracle cloud revenues are just old on-prem support revenues masquerading as cloud revenues. Not sustainable, in fact, totally fake - no new cash coming into the company

This is HP all over again, went up on cost cuts and then crashed into oblivion. We've seen this movie and now oracle is the star in the sequel

I got a confirm today about the Solaris dev / sustain shakeup and subsequent layoff back in January from someone I know who is still there. You bet your boots that these layoffs are real. Oracle won't be raining raises and bonuses on their employees anytime soon, no matter how much $ the company makes or if the stock goes to $1,000. You can bet on that too.

Oracle has laid off 80% of their sales force. There was a massive RIF on June 6 and many families were affected. This is contrary to Mark Hurd's report that this was a rumor or fake news. They've been planning it since last year.

Eh, not impressed, nowhere close to AWS, MSFT, or SFDC. Oracle continues to limp along

I would prefer RIFs for all negative people, and they should desert software development work and proactively take on street cleaning job immediately.
