Does anyone have anything definitive on the HR policy of taking severance and getting rehired?

Stop this self abuse - just leave man!
The cheap a&& holes want payment of remaining severance you'd have left. Meaning if you received 6 months of severance, and you're hired 3 months after being canned, you return 3 months of severance. Also, it really messes your taxes up. You should be aloud to keep, due to the mental torment you went through.
Are you a masochist? Run away from that place!
ISTR from my package (from 2015) that it was six months. If you came back before then, you forfeited some/all of your severance. YMMV
Just set your new hire date after the severance time period expires.
The definitive HR policy is outlined in the document you get to sign. Anything beyond that is discretionary.
If they need you, it is possible that HR will waive anything you owe.
Don't be a wimp and try to hand in to oracle, it's a wonderful world out there. And your new employer will not abuse you like oracle has - I know, it takes getting used to but trust me, you'll like it. Will probably feel like being released from prison or leaving an abusive relationship
The more important question is: why would you want to? Get the hell out! There is no future at oracle. You will just get laid off against !
You have to pay back any unused portion.
Nothing is preventing you from being hired (policy wise)
Heard several people got rehired at different departments after the receiving severance package after the people applied for open jobs.
