You honestly think the focus is on cutting in Corporate HR? Couldn't be further from the truth. The target of all RIF actions is to streamline the stores even further. And by streamlining the stores, I mean cut beyond the bone. HR is going to be centralized around the 800#. Staffing decisions will be made by statistics and computer. You will not be able to change your schedule with a human being--you'll have to try to switch shifts. Can't do that? Tough luck. Run out of attendance points? A notice will be emailed telling your SM, if you have one, to terminate you. Sick time, etc. will all go through either the SM or 800#. Coachings and all that really will have no meaning as the decisions on your employment will come from an algorithm.

So many more things going on to damage the stores further in an attempt to frustrate customers enough to send them to the .com. You think all these things you experience on the sales floor are unintentional results of cost cutting? We are beholden to shareholders. All this is intentional and more is coming. I haven't been wrong yet.

Get to know the labor laws in your state. Read up on them. You're going to need it.

I agree with the other reply. We've been told about this since January, and in corporate none of you are really struggling as we are in the stores. Down SM's and ASTA's, which I've heard will also start fading away.

We keep saying Corp HR will be cut, but it just doesn't seem to happen. Of course, I don't want anyone to lose their job. Do you have anymore info on what HR will be cut? More from the stores, or from the Corp world?
